What are the best websites to post your art on in 2026?

If you want to keep your artistic integrity? Newgrounds, Sheezy.art, or your own website on something like neocities or nekoweb.
If you want to sellout? Twitter.
Also, the breasts look better without the nips popping through in your picrel.

I honestly stopped posting art on the internet.
>all bots
>all ai
>all "ragebait"
if i wanted to be a content slopper that badly i'd just open kids toys on camera and upload it to youtube kids so i could finance 5 generations with a month's of ad revenue

Sometimes reddit if you want easy likes. But they're missing a chromosome and ask stupid questions.
Pixiv seems to be meh.
Deviantart has losers on it.
Newgrounds has losers on it.
Twitter is alright but nobody shares your work.
Discord will ignore you.
Instagram might be dead.
Bluesky might be dead.
Misskey and baraag I'm unsure.
Youtube you might get lucky with shorts.
Kemono.party is dead atm.
Rule34 easy likes but no money.
Danbooru you might get followers.

You should post everywhere because it's free and it takes a few secondes to make a post.
Hosting your own backup blog is also a good idea because websites owners wioo make stupid decisions if wait long enough (see Tumblr or dA).

It isn't. It's a completely unaffiliated site made by fans of the original.

Deviantart has become an AI infested cesspool.

Newgrounds, despite how you're trying to frame it here, has remained as one of the most free and least censorious websites out there. even the rules you're posting here are only loosely applied. Want total freedom? Make your own fucking site.
>>7892541
The gaming platform? I guess you could post art there, on the forums or as a community post, but I can't imagine posting anything that isn't (game )fan art related.

>newgrounds uses webp compression now.
It's annoying but you can still download the images and videos from newgrounds fairly easily. Compared to twitter, which needs a third part site or app to just to download their videos or gifs (as if its twitters content to protect, and as if they're not a platform solely for sharing - I'm amazed they even let us download images).

Doesn't Amy's age fluctuate depending on the series or time? I always assumed she was late teens or early 20s, not fucking 13. And then adding in Rouge who just bleeds sex-appeal really confuses the whole damn thing. Also, they're anthro cartoons of all things. Meanwhile you have 10,000 year old loli vampires that don't get a bat of an eye. But they're drawings, while Epstein Isle 2.0 and 3.0 is probably popping off somewhere, but this is the real hill to die on right here.

Old Shadman on NG and the rest of the psycho shit that was posted on there was truly a wondrous time. Now you have limp wristed faggots crying and wanting to sanitize every inch and space of the internet despite entire massive social media platforms already there to cater to their shitty posting life-style. Fucking normies don't deserve mass communications, and especially don't deserve the internet. God do I miss early NGs.

>Make your own fucking site.
I actually did this.
It's just a Docker running a booru (plus any other backend stuff needed), but it's my own hardware and my own rules. Though in my case, I wanted it so I could host "Ultra HDR" images, and less because of any objectionable content (I'm actually somewhat tame compared to most).

Faggot, pre-social-media era and before the masses got onto the internet was peak kino. Most sub-IQ retards weren't online, and the shit on Newgorunds was a lot more unhinged and nuts and quite frankly refreshing. That's even if Shadman is disregarded out of the mix, but he was probably the most infamous and unhinged with his art. But you can fuck off with your over sanitized shithole websites, there's plenty of options for you that you can fuck off to and police. Don't like it, there's more than enough safe spaces for you.

Honestly the internet back then was not that different from what it is now
>new shadman goon dropped
>everyone was spamming it everywhere
Then it was sakimi
then csr
then that other guy who takes memes but puts anime characters in it
now probably some other literal who who draws porn
All the cliques and shit? Always has been a thing.
Artists being drama faggots? Yup.
throughout the years only the names changed and the people multiplied by the billions

>Honestly the internet back then was not that different from what it is now
It was, it was smaller, and there were more sites. Now the internet is just shrinking into a few mega-websites. Same with 4chan, but 4chan is a different story how this place went down hill.
>most retards weren't online
They weren't. Most people didn't start hopping online until social-media became larger, same with things like early Youtube, and MySpace. Most people weren't online because they had no need or desire to until it became far more accessible to be able to share their shitty vacation picture, pets and/or ego-posturing/posting for each other on social.
Unless you were a nerd or in forums chatting shit up or a gamer, most normies weren't online.

Do they have it set up so you can just enter your blog post, or do you have to play with the html and the website arrangement (essentially making an entire website update) each time you want to make a post?
Not a criticism, I'm just not sure how it works.

They allow AI on their site, don't they? For a website that's supposed to be dedicated to artists getting work, it's a pretty big flub on their end. I also believe they allow training on the art posted on that site.
It's also just one of the most dull sites out there, despite being full of talented people - I don't know how they managed to make such a boring party when the the guest list includes all the coolest and most interesting people, but somehow they pulled off.

>shadman
lol wasn't internet already fucked by that point?
i mean of course internet was always full of gay ass drama it was like that since usenet days but any idiot knows that.
difference between back then and today is that back then internet was not a serious place it was place for "losers to be losers" so nobody cared and we all just had fun. Problem however is that internet is just too goddamn useful to not be making profit out of it its too damn useful to not astroturf fake political movements. Social media and irl started to get too close to each other to the point that today people started to call avatars pfps. So slowly things started to become more serous and less fun.

Geocities was a mega-website : millions of personal pages and communities were lost when it went offline. You're doing the same with neocities and nekoweb that are honestly more similar to Tumblr in its execution than geocities.
>>
>>7894019
It's a shame a lot of it is lost. Same with older websites. I used to read webcomics a lot back in the early days and a lot were just strange little website gems that are lost forever. Whether the original artist died or whatever happened, it sucks.
>>
>>7893123
oh, and newgrounds isn't filled with gay furry porn? you can use either website for anything, as long as it's not edgy political shit, memes, or loli stuff. but itaku won't compress your files. use deviantart if you don't want to see explicit content.

Danbooru isn't even a website for artists. Artist tags are meant to be a best-of gallery curated by fans. Mods will shadowban your tag if they notice that you're posting your own drawings, especially if you're a Western artist because they are racist.

Making your own blog is a great way to find fans who truly care about you. No fake engagement metrics and no algorithm gatekeeping. People consume your content intentionally instead of being pushed into it. It's 100% your space.
Just a website link they can bookmark and visit whenever they feel like seeing your latest work. It's pretty much the best creator-to-fan connection you can have.
Having your own blog as your main website + social media algo gambling is the best approach.

>>7892540
>Deviantart has losers on it.

The other sites have these people too. Would argue that Twitter, Instagram and Discord are far worse in this regards. Their losers are much more narcissistic and petty.

Don’t use Artstation. I deleted my account on there today. Like another anon said, it’s a dull website, but it’s also home to a lot of people trying to scam you with NFTs. They would email me gassing up my art saying it’s so good I want to buy it yadda yadda yadda and then they’ll drop a link to an NFT website and ask you to upload it there- but there’s a catch. You have to pay a “gas fee” (first one was literally $600) in order to upload your art. Once you hypothetically pay this fee, they pocket the money and the NFT is basically never made. I’ve gotten so many emails like that and it got so tiring that I just left the website. Deviantart is unironically better, also larger
>>
>>7897274
what was their goal in the end? killed the fucking site for no reason. The only people that I would see still using artstation as a portfolio or whatever are fags or industry vets that have no other options(shit at marketing their art online/etc).
>>
>>
>>
>>7897294
>Idk, but I doubt any will go that direction
cause it inflates value and shows shareholders/advertisers that the site is "popular".
>banning it is going to hurt the website more than anyone else.
It wouldn't, sites that post gen ai only always dies/shuts down cause no one actively looks for that shit. There's a huge reason why so many aifags hide and lie about their gen ai usage. Same with calling stuff like oat milk and nut milk. Do you think people would actually want to drink something called oat juice or nut juice? fuck no, better call it milk to make it sound appetizing.
>>
>>7897294
>With AI being so commonplace now, banning it is going to hurt the website more than anyone else
I think that's a shit take cuz a very small minority consumes that shit. AI shitters will also churn out hundreds of posts a day and flood any site that allows it until the site ends up having 90% of its total content as AI generated images.
>>
>>7897291
>>7897294
There's cara, and it became big (for a short time) because of its anti-ai stance. I'm not sure how it's going now, but I don't think any of its failings would stem from that anti-ai position.
Is cara still active? I do hear about it occasionally, but obviously not nearly as much after its initial blowup.

>>7897294
The thing that AI does exceptionally well is wasting computer resources for output that’s worse than its input. You can fill terabytes of storage with shit within minutes for the low price of having to dedicate petabytes of storage to holding the training data. All services are already fucked by AI because of how expensive computer parts are, and you think that they should also all take the extra hit from having all the resources they already have being wasted on automated spam.
>>
>>
>>7897203
>yeah, but they actually have money though. NG and DA are filled with underage shitters and 3rd worlders which means no money.
So does those sites and many other sites. Being picky about which site you should post in doesn't seem like a good idea especially if you're looking for clout or money.
>>
>>7897203
>but they actually have money though
psst... no one tell him about all the asspies who will pay you 60 bux for a beg-tier fetishist art of their waifu on DA.
>filled with underage shitters and 3rd worlders
They are more present on those other sites, since all their favorite e-celebs hangs out on them.

>>
>>7897348
Well, I post almost all my work on Cara. Tbh it works way better as a portfolio site than social media. It seems some attempts were made to allow you to find jobs trough the site but afaik it hasn't amounted to much.
Also most of us who use it see it as kind of a place safe from places like twitter and instagram, so everyone tends to be very nice to each other, almost to a fault imo, but if you'd like the complete oposite of 4chan community-wise without getting to tumblr levels that's a choice.

I want to make my own booru but I don't want to pay for a private server. I currently have a website but it's a shared hosting plan that's limited to wordpress. I was hoping I could somehow make a faux-booru wordpress site (aparantly there's a hentai "booru" that actually pulls it off pretty well but I've had no luck because of how complex it'd be plus I'm not any good at webdev

All the popular sites are a gamble nowadays, you could get:
>A site with decent staff but Atari levels of compression
>A site with basically no compression but with staff who are either incompetent, or a recreation of WWII Germany
>A site somewhere in-between those but the community is hyper specific, batshit insane, or literal children
>A site that's perfect, but it's paywalled or invite only
Just pick a site and pray
>>
If you want to make money - twitter will get you the most reach.
IMO starting out you need to build your twitter following by posting in alternate platforms
reddit is gay so its only useful early on, make sure your @ is on your art
>newgrounds
newgrounds is a dying site and the moderators are boomers so very meh nowadays
>youtube
you can get creative and make stuff centered around the creation of your work or if you do animations this is the best alternative to twitter
>pixiv
jap central they will only like your work if it looks truly japanese

2010s isn't "back then", it was already well entrenched in what we have today. The 2000s was a totally different world online for art and in general though the bar for quality was much lower, in part due to lack of clear $camming opportunities and so being populated almost entirely by pure hobbyists

In regard to making your own website, especially if you do NSFW, be aware of the draconian age-verification laws that have been getting put in place in multiple countries over the past few years. In the US, you can both be fined by the state governments and be sued by individuals over state lines. Furthermore, many of the bills have nebulous definitions for what adult content is, most of them describing it as "content deemed harmful to minors," which could be misconstrued as being anything.
I no longer have a website because of this bullshit. I've made like 10 fresh iterations of my site over the years, all written completely from scratch with PHP, and these fucks took that away from me. I keep a Mega archive of my stuff now, but I miss getting to have fun designing and building my own website.
