>noo you can't just be a crab you have to like and subscribe and be my #artmoot
Lions kill the cubs of previous males when they take over a pride. Crabbing is an intrinsic part of nature. So why do people act like I'm such a villain when I message amateur artists from alt accounts to disparage them about how their art is cringe and they'll never make it as an artist and should give up instead?

Survivorship bias. People born into success/wealth tend to be narcissistic because they live such different lives from the 99%. When you can spend $1k+ on a meal and not blink, while others are fretting about $20, it's hard not to think of everyone else as lesser beings.
On the other hand, I believe most narcissists are closer on the spectrum of success to Cyraxx. Borderline delusional halfwits who think they're temporarily embarrassed millionaires on the cusp of success, if only the right person would retweet them or help them. They're so smart and skilled and deserving of everything, but it's the shitty society and bad luck that's keeping them in their mundane lives.

>encourage positivity to try to drown out negativity, reducing the effectiveness of crabbing
>crabbing is a way to get ahead by suppressing the competition
>thus, encouraging positivity is a way to suppress others' way of getting ahead, therefore it itself is a means of crabbing
It's crabs all the way down. Artists are just crabs by nature

Wait that was you?
Whenever I was about to quit because I felt sad and forgotten, a random chucklefuck would try to get me fired up by being my biggest hater.
You thought you were demoralizing me? You were hyping me up and giving me reasons to keep on fighting just to prove you wrong one day.
Thank you for being my rival, I love you. Without haters, I would have never learned to love myself to this degree.

Because humans have a thing called rational thinking and don't rely only on preservation instincts. You are not a villain and you are not crabbing. You are just suffering from pathological narcissism. One of its symptoms is crippling insecurity, which is shown by the kind of punching down you partake in.

>Thinking you'd ever come close to rivaling my skill regardless of how much inferior competition you put down
That's cute, but you're just a sheep who doesn't understand it needs to play a different game than the lion. Mids like you need social power. You need a flock. Instead of building your flock, you've killed it. That is very unwise.

Actually I'm punching up. No point in crabbing artists who are NGMI on their own. The ideal target to crab is a promising new artist with low social media following. Use multiple alt accounts to reinforce the message that they're not talented, their hopes are cringe, and no one would buy their overpriced commissions because their art is bad.

The biggest thing you can do to crab someone is to pretend to commission them, then pull out. Some artists will show you a WIP before the final version is released to you. When they send you the WIP, you pull out and say something like:
"Wow ok, umm sorry this is just not what I was expecting..."
It will absolutely obliterate their confidence.
