That's called "I rendered one thing first, and the other way later". It's not really a fur brush though, just did a bit of texturing with the square brush I used for the entire drawing.

Had the same issue on this one regarding finishing it. I was discussing it with Seben at one point and he gave me some good ideas. I'm mixing brushes a bit. Trying to do everything with that textured one doesn't quite work due to texture scaling. Really should make a 2nd version with smaller scaling.

That's one of the biggest hurdles, knowing when and where a piece is finished and this is the key to pushing past mid-level. This occurred to me seeing people like Forrest come out of the pro-sphere; they follow a very consistent rubric when they take on WotC or the like, it forces them to compartmentalize all their little trickity-tricks and material/spatial prescience. when I went to one of Sparth's workshops, he had all these ways of jumping in and everything always looked finished, turned out he compartmentalized all his techniques.

If you can name it, you can compartmentalize it. Look at some of these amazing artists and you'll see that they're also very good note-takers in their studies. Firce yourself to explain even if you don't have to, and I guarantee you will have a very tight version of what you have now and the hurdles of inconsistency will be removed. This is why I recommend a written rubric.

I remember having pizza in Italy, both Florence and Rome and feeling a little underwhelmed. The ingredients were really high quality, and they were cooked in a traditional way, but I guess my consumption of goyslop pizza flavour has tainted my palette against the traditional pizza.
I can taste the crust, the cheese, the sauce, all the ingredients are right and the quality is there, but it just doesn't have that same impactful flavour. I guess because pizza in my head feels like fast food, so receiving something with a flavour palette more shallow than that just felt kind of underwhelming.
That being said the wine in Italy is insanely how quality, even better than france IMO. And I had a gorgeous Tuscan steak, cooked over a wood fire to perfection in a Florentine restaurant that was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. The food in Italy is great, but the pizza was a little disappointing.
