This thread is designed to be a space for women, by women.
If you are not a XX chromosome woman, do not post in this thread. Not looking for male opinions, male art, discussions of men/male art, etc.
NOTICE: The /fyi/ thread will complete evolution into /wao/ (Women's Art Oasis) after this transitional thread. We are rebranding this space to include female artists who may not necessarily be fujos, yumes, etc.
Rules:
>the males must be attractive
>women must be drawn with the female-gaze in mind.
>No /femboy/trans/cuntboy/traps/futa. Go to /salt/ for that.
>If you want female advice on "how do I draw x" then go to /beg/. Nobody gives a fuck.
>No male yurifags, no faceless dudes, no femboy, no shota/ loli, no futa, no guro, no derailing thread. Nothing created to appeal to the male gaze. Thank you.
>If it does not serve women, it does not belong here.
>If your bait isn't accompanied by your own work, we do not care.
>If it reads like bait, don't respond. Just report.
>Do not derail thread to discuss/debate what the female gaze should or shouldn't be. We do NOT care.
>Do not engage in political discourse, or gender war/ideology slop. This is not /pol/. This is not Twitter. This thread is for art made by women.
>Our focus has always been, and always will be, supporting fellow women artists.

Thank you, is a combo of different paper textures, some noise, chromatic aberration, and I fiddle with the layer modes until I get something that looks appealing to me. It really depended on the pic though, hope that helps :D

>Both of these are CUTE, but I'd love to know more about Molly!!! I really like the coloring you used on her dress btw!!!
Ty. I made Molly when I was just turned 6 when I saw a picture of a cute anime girl in a video game magazine and ripped it off lol. This is also either my first if not second memory of me actually drawing anything in my entire life. She look roughly like pic related when i was a kid and I named her Molly then and pretty drew her off and on my whole life. The current iteration of Molly Doll is an all powerful magical spirit with the ability to grant wishes and shapeshifts into a silly little toy poodle because dogs are favorite animal and Molly dog form is super cute. Oh and Salem and her are a couple and they're super into eachother. Thats the super basics for the sake of thread lol

No, no, she's right. The low effort doodles are what I've scrawled out in between bridgman grinding sessions just to keep me sane. They're cries for help in the form of graphite rather than real artwork. I got pages and pages and pages of this.

You want people to critique art in this space? Feels a little harsh to me, since it's the only place that people are nice to my art. ^^;
But at the same time...
I guess if we can post works in progress, I'd post more things! I feel a little off posting things in here that are far from polished, while others are posting really nice and clean works.

I don't see anything wrong with both encouragement and critiques, if people want them. It takes both to keep people motivated but also push their skills.

What I meant in >>7953010 (You) # wasn't necesarily about critique but for the lack civilized dialogue in these threads. It's nice to to be talked to like a human instead of getting accused of being a moid, getting followed in OTHER threads to be accused of being a moid, then come back to see some other poor anonnette getting accused of being a moid.

Boring, boring, boring!!!!
You're pannels are really boring!!
Since the foids acting really yappy in this thread and seeing ghosts for no reason (women moment), I'll give you some real advice.
Your pannels are like taking pictures of events AS IS. All it shows me is this elf guy killed a deer in the most basic way possible. Who was significant? The deer? Or the Elf? If it's the deer, we gotta give it a close up and give the deer 'life' and BAM a arrow just kills it out on nowhere. But if the elf guy is the focus, you could fix it by giving the elf guy more personal shots. You show what he does but we don't "FEEL" the energy from him drawing the bow, you know this is like +150lb to draw a bow right? Much more than a foid like you could pull so the question becomes how do we show this energy? Move the camera under the arrow looking up to the guy and have him draw across the entire page so we can feel the ENERGY from drawing the bow by redrawing the third pannel. Or if we want impact from the arrow flying (more of a stealth kill) and ignoring the draw and focus on the little details on the fingers, the sweat on his forehead as he waits in a hidden position waiting for the deer, waiting for the rustling of leaves that a deer is near by... then BAM the arrow flying across the page and striking the deer in the heart. Stealth kill, we never see the guy until the last pannel or whatever. That would be two extremes of the same events on two different focuses but here, we just have a basic
>Elf guy kills deer.
That's it. We don't get to feel life from the deer, or the guy. It's BORING.
Don't believe me?
https://youtu.be/09cpCqkFwa8
Why do you think this scene was impactful? Because it focused on the rabbit DUH!!!! You think if they showed this scene how you drew it it would remember? No chance in hell because it's not personnel in any sense. Aka BORING!!!!
>>7953095
Why do your think you deserve to be treated with any respect? Freak.

Critique in general is hard to give without an idea of was the artist is having an idea of what the artist's intent is or want to improve on. Not a fan of nitpicking other work for the sake of being hyper critical when most of the women artist here have and can flourish without it should they love to draw enough. Also feel free to post WIPs here if you like the more art the better!
>>7953095
I'm sorry, but you're doing yourself ZERO FAVORS by being both hostile and making accusations towards a thread that you expect to be a part of and worst you're now attracting outsiders here to tear you down as well. That's a good point! I think someone had said something similar in a reply to a post I made elsewhere, about deciphering between things made in good faith and things made just to piss people off. Takes some skill there too.

I complained about one odd and disturbed anon from here who have been following me to other threads to get my attention, and that complaint was percieved as an official declaration of war against the entire thread.

not sure what you're struggling with so I just did a "my take on it" redline. as is there wasn't any overly distracting errors. I just pushed the perspective on smaller guy slightly and pushed expressiveness of some of the hands and feet.

Foreground element that I haven't finished grawing in yet. The round thingis are placeholders for where I'll draw the rest in. Bad idea, or did I fuck up the perspective in them?

Her head seems to be a bit disconnected from her torso even in the original, and but even moreso when the perspective of the shoulders and ribcage is corrected. We can have a better idea of where her head should be in relation to her body by drawing the neck muscles.

>begline
With all due respect, your time is better spent learning to draw than correcting others work because this a sharp downgrade from the original artwork and doesn't assist the artist in the slightest. The only thing you achieved here was poorly redrawing parts of this picture in your own style, sadly.
>>
>>7957185
nta Line quality is irrelevant when the advice given is sound, methinks. Looks like the corrections were made from a mobile device, which I'd argue doesn't take away from what was pointed out.
I dunno about the OP but I'd rather receive shakey chickenscratch line critique than polished turd critique. :)
>>
>>7957191
It's not the line quality or possibly drawing on mobile that determents if something is poorly drawn, but the gesture and proportions that gave it away. One look at the poor perspective of the head in the redraw in the last drawing shows that anon has a weak understanding of anatomy even if there text advice seems plausible. This is just my 0.02 cent on the matter; OP is free to draw whatever she feels will make for a better picture in the end.

Another one! I appreciate it thank you, although I feel that in losing visibility of her face with the last edit it gets less intimate, if that makes sense?
I think I need to work on drawing more exaggerated bodily expressions in general.
Between those and this >>7957099, I'm def lacking in the subject acting department.
>>7957184
Picrel is the environment is what I was going for recreating, for more context
Worst case scenario, everybody else is confused about it too and you kinda work it out until someone accidentally solves it. This is the power of being in spaces that encourage constructive critique, it feels as if you end up improving faster instead of banging your head against the problem you can't see until you give up then fuck off.

I think I know what you mean by that. Perhaps she needs a clearer gaze than in the sketch that I did over your work, like this. Your anatomy is actually perfectly fine btw, but what I saw "off" about your work was that the gesture seemed stiff and unnatural. You do not need an anatomical redline except for the hands and feet, but the anon before me did that beautifully.
I also did a quick line-over the parts that I changed the most just to convey better what I was thinking in my head. Oh and sorry for making her head smaller, that was genuinely unintended.
