I feel like something is wrong with the arm/hand here, but for the life of me I can't figure out what. Does anyone have advice? Even if that advice is that I'm wrong and it's fine.

it looks too small for the body, make the arm bigger

the proportions are fucked up, use a manequin / 3d model and compare (especially the relative sizes of head, arm, deltoids and trapezoid)
the forearm should be mostly in the light, to be consistent with the rest of the image
>>
>>7951983
proportions wrong (arm), anatomy wrong (scapula), composition bad (tangent), rendering wrong (inconsistent light confuses form)
looks like you painted over ai slop

>composition bad (tangent)
Are you referring to edges being too close to the figure?

primarily both arms in relation to the silhouette of the body

The arm is too short and thin. In that position her elbow should reach her waist. The forearm is way too short, the hand should almost reach her knees. This is more of a nitpick but the arms are too skinny compared to the rest of her body, I would make them a bit thicker.

Here is an example, though it is not the same angle, you can see that the end of the forearm is high enough to meet her navel. Her fingers can reach her knees.

you are polishing an anatomical turd
your proportions and foreshortening are utter crap

Would anyone be willing to do a redline for the proportions? Or a basic sketch of a better angle/pose for a composition where the arms are more readable alongside the body silhouette?

>get human being
>sit human being on loading dock, table, whatever
>pose arm and head
>step back, observe, take photo
If it's a picnic table outside on a sunny day, you might be able to orient it and have mom sit on the tabletop (not the seat) to help with the shadows.

My mom's always bitchy about nude posing in public

I feel it should be bigger overall, I know there's a reason foids can't open jars or throw basketballs but their arms aren't THAT thin, they're like a third of their torso while you're at around a fifth

I just did a rough fix on the arm anatomy and tried to also fix the overall anatomy a bit. The elbow points at the camera, so don't be afraid to push the foreshortening and size up the arm and elbow a bit

The other arm seems broken as well.
>>

Dang, that does look better.

The other arm looks a little better there but the main problem is it's so hard to read as separate from the torso.

I agree. I think her other arm might have to come out like pic related, but to do this I will have to change the whole anatomy balance a bit more. She's sitting too upright for her to lean back on her arm. This whole pose is off.

Possible alternative composition. Thoughts?

Yeah, but she doesn't need to be naked for you to see where her arms wind up. My point was that it's an easy thing to ask someone to sit for a moment while you figure something out.

Anyway, weird arm aside, your work's pretty great. Good luck with it.

I liked the more dramatic lighting of the first one. And the deltoids are still too small relative to the trapezoids

Which 3d model did you use here?
