Is it worth going full NSFW as someone who just draws attractive women in clothes? I don't make much money now but money is always a question mark in art, there's no real formula to it, so I wouldn't assume I'd be necessarily richer going that route. What I'm curious about more is whether I'd attract actual braindead retards who would make my life less pleasant and generally speaking what are the consequences of becoming an nsfw artist

I'd like to get some opinions of pin-up artists who went full nsfw or maybe someone who's in a similar situation, is it worth it and what should I watch for?

If your pin-ups have a unique appeal to them and you are consistent in delivering them it won't matter that they aren't fully nude.

If you don't believe you're at a point where you're delivering something unique, switching to NSFW pin-ups may generate more attention and financial gain but it's no guarantee. How far you'd have to dip your toes into fetish work to gain that attention is also up in the air.

As far as potential clientele goes, when you become established as a NSFW artist you will become the bridge between a man and his nut.

LESS MONEY. simple as.

I don't know why is so hard to grasp the simple concept that MAIN$TREAM IS the general bulk of the whole market. Once you start going into encased side markets, like "nsfw" and then sub confines sub-markets of that already enclosed nsfw market like bdsm, or furry, or futa, or milf, or blacked, or whatever. Then you just by yourself walked into a trap cornering yourself into that dark, lonely and ugly little room to try to make a "living" out of it. Too late to realize your mistake. It's a dark room for a reason, customers don't want to be seen there, and they will fly out of there whenever they feel uncomfortable or having a regret-guilt moment, and you will be alone there thinking there's someone else there to do business with, when there's no one there, but yourself and others just like you desperately trying to make money out of nothing.
Meanwhile out there, talentless retards are making money because there just THERE, occupying an space and showing up. "Art" business is most than anything else a HUMAN interaction, an "artistic experience" bought by normies with that thirst for "human spirituality and their artistic nature". And no, they won't go into the dark filthy alley to get that. They will go to the artist alley in the tourist route and buy the landscape, the portrait, ANYTHING just to have that "artistic experience". Go to the touristic part of your city, and watch tourists buy the most crappy shit just to "get something" out of the culture of the place. They even buy something as an excuse to have a little chat with an "artist". And yes, being an artist is a shitty job, of course you won't make bank doing portraits in the street, but you will be doing even LESS money going into the dark sewers to draw pervy stuff for pervy fucks who don't want want to put their info out to buy that shit. Make business in the most clear environment possible.

Sorry, you're right. I just wrote it in one go. Now I see that because of the rush it has typos and superfluous wording all over the place. Too late to delete and edit.
