They are confused by them and don't understand.
Please help them by explaining it to them more carefully.

What about gaijin 4koma, ToT or the irasutoya edits? Maybe you're just obsessed with fags.
Also, what the hell is Babylon 34?

Only the elderly remember those days.
Japan back in the day, when people thought anything American was the best.

I don't know why they are so alien, no other asian is country is like this, not even china. I lost count the number of times I've seen japanese asking other japanese on X if a certain meme was offensive or not.

>Japs Don't Understand Western Memes
i could show it to my parents and they wouldn't understand. because they haven't been exposed to memes like i was. it's the same thing for them.
you're not smarter than others just cause you know memes. are you actually trying to brag about this?

20 years ago that was virtually every meme out of Japan proper. Things like gachimuchi or yaranaika were constant, while all of the vipper/anime memes were either from 4chan exclusively or world2ch (also a US website). The most relevant 'Japanese' meme recently is UOOH and the guy who made isn't even Japanese Dorontabi is Korean who was doing a minstrel show impression of Japanese. I promise every relevant domestic meme they had was for some reason homosexual all of the anime memes were exclusively in weeb spaces.

I saw that for the first time in a while.
It’s not very popular, but it seems they’re still making it on a small scale.

I've been getting family guy videos on my YouTube that are fully subbed into Japanese and the comment section is all Japanese
They genuinely seem a bit confused by the humor (example: "wwww why did Peter hit meg like that??") but most say that once you understand it it's quite humorous and good in a raunchy way
There is a distinct gap in perception that exemplifies the differences in the cultures

Zoomies thinking prequels are good because of memes. Tbqh millenials thinking prequels are good because nostalgia. I wonder when the change from everyone thinking it was bad to everyone thinking it was good happened

I sympathize with the Japanese poster on this one: You have to have seen the original horse drawing memes earlier to be able to understand what the flaming horse means. If you don't have that context then there's no way to figure it out on its own.
