I’m doing trade work at a local uni. Chemical engineering building. About half of students are indians and asians. None of these people are getting jobs after graduation. Best hope is to get a job at the uni itself apparently

The issue is she's competing against hundreds of other people who have the same or better resume than her.
It only makes sense for an employer to pick the best candidate they have.
A friend of mine works in HR at a medium sized firm and said as soon as they put the job listing up, they got 50 application within the first hour.

but uni debt in the UK isn't real debt, it basically just works like a tax after you start earning above a certain threshold
it really just doesn't matter at all

Then the company can train them.
It's not the kids fault they're being born into and put through a bullshit system that doesn't work or equip them properly. If people aren't being sufficiently prepared for jobs after 21 years of education then that's a failure of the system.
It's the system that has failed the young people going through its processes, not the hard-working young people who have studied and played by the system's rules.

Again, the system's fault. Working is not the summit of our existence, but something we do as a favour for society.
The society, the system, the government - call it whatever - has the obligation to prepare people for this social order so they can work in its jobs, etc.
We used to have apprenticeships, vocations and guild traditions,l where young people could seamlessly assimilate into the world of work. Then the system destroyed all that and said you have to go to university. Now it turns out the system made an error and fucked everything up. That sucks, but it's their problem and on them to fix it.

what jobs and how do you make these jobs for them? are the jobs going to be working on a farm for someone else or random meaningless unproductive stuff because resources must be free (until they run out and everyone starves)?
