Hi anons, for anyone who was interested in the Sukusuku Hakutaku version of the Keine game, the demo is now available to play!
Last time I got some extremely helpful comments and feedback on it, I would love to hear of any thoughts on the game.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4550900/Sukusuku_Hakutakus_Class_Demo/

If anyone offers any feedback, I'll draw them an animated scribble of their character of choice, doing something. I still have a few I need to get finished but I promise I'll post them here overtime!

>>50804316
Wonderful, just what I needed to see after grinding all day. Thank you anon, these Sukus warm my heart.
>>
I painted Ran.
>>
>>50805318
Cute game, anon. I don't have any serious critiques, but during the first tutorial I noticed Suku says "before that happen" instead of "before that happens". Sorry I forgot to screencap it.

If you could draw some scribble of Tsukasa it would be appreciated!
>>
>>50804316

Bit of an unusual post, as I never make anything here, just complement people's art because I love others' creative spirits. I was in the mental hospital for about 4 days after a half assed OD suicide attempt. There is no internet or electronics use for inpatients and security confiscates >95% of what is brought in. It was utterly boring and depriving, I'd liken it to the world's most boring RPG where all you get to do is mill about and ask the desk workers for occasional QoL stuff like chapstick or in my case, Touhou coloring pages, in between the insipid groups and the daily 15 minutes you get with an actual psychiatrist (if you're lucky). My parents brought a few books in which security took over 24 hours to process despite literature being guaranteed a patient right, including my Douay-Rheims Bible and a copy of the Chinese Four Books and Five Classics, I have a love of antiquarian literature. The ward had a copy of Pascal's Pensees (real shocker) and I got a print up of Heraclitus' Fragments. Even coloring Reimu, I had to go entirely off memory so there are definitely some off colors there. I chose crayon intentionally as a medium despite there being colored pencils to give it more of a lived-in outsider art vibe. Coloring was perhaps 45 minutes and it took about 2 hours to find all quotes which mattered to me. Many were selected using a coin as an RNG "oracle" (I have OCD) and I read the passages which the coin decided for me, digging for gems among them. I'm sorry if I wrote too much, but I'm far more proud of this than I ought to be, and I plan on framing it and putting it up

I'm doing a new stained glass piece while I'm still learning how to paint faces.

This will be Suika standing beneath the moon. I'm stuck between which glass for the moon to use. What do you guys think? Or should I find a different yellow?

A difficulty is that the glass with and without light shining through it looks different. The one with the swirls are more opaque when not back-lit, whereas the clear yellow is clear, but will show whatever is behind the glass clearly.
>>
>>50807485
This is what they look like when not super back-lit. The clear one is, obviously more clear, and I'm worried seeing what's behind might ruin any effect.
>>
Alternatively, there's this super bright yellow one. But idk if it's too bright, ya know?

That's a really good Reimu from memory. I'd almost certainly screw up a lot of the details with no computer.
>>
>>50807485
>>50807499
I think the swirly one would look slightly better if the rest of it is roughly the same level of opacity, and I feel like it almost has a cloud theme.

>>50807516
Definitely not that one in my opinion.

I played both version of your game and really like it. I wish there was an option to set the word choices back to the "default" settings or redo the difficulty survey at the beginning of the game. Once I mess around with the different options I forget what was checked originally. then I feel tempted to make the game either way too easy or hard on myself.
>>
>>50807485
Very nice sketch Anon. I'd go with the first. Being see-through isn't quite as important as getting a good texture and that glass on the left has a really pleasing texture for something moon related. Besides, the rest of the window will still shine through. I'd be careful around Suika's right horn with the ribbon, though. It's gonna be a tight fit and probably require some real interesting glass cuts.

I'm really struggling to finish a single drawing lately. It's like 90% of my time drawing is spent on sketching 50 different poses and I can't settle on a single one, and even when I do, I start thinking halfway through that it looks a bit shit and I'm just wasting my time.
How do I stop this mentality?
>>
>>50815629
You keep drawing
>>
>>50815629

Maybe try limiting how many different poses you can sketch before committing to one.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but may I suggest drawing something OTHER than kawaii girl in void? It's hard to have passion for something when you just draw the same thing over and over, right? Is there anything else you might be interested in trying out, like landscapes or porn or literally anything different than what you currently do? Or maybe try drawing in a different style besides pixel art, to mix things up. Try out traditional art or use a different digital pen.

>>
>>50826263
Probably a scheduling thing. Hard to do events like that at a timeframe where multiple drawfags can show up and stay for a while. Which is why I think the Kukulu sessions are the best ones. Anyone can join in randomly whenever they get spare time, and they can just come back and forth to work on their pieces whenever they get spare time.

>>50815158
Thank you very much anon! I'm not sure how the best way to do such a thing would work but I'll try to think about it. The idea is basically just "Pick the games you've actually played" but I can understand it might help to give some sort of easy baseline like I did with the start.

>>50826974

>>
>>50827760
you may also want to consider implementing something related to this if you care about the achievements being a challenge. Its pretty trivial to just uncheck everything except a single very familiar game like EoSD and then blast through the puzzles without thinking.
Not trying to dictate how the game should be played, but I know some players are going to purposefully do that.
>>
>>50827916
I'm not too worried about it. Yes you can mess with the game rules to make getting some of the achievements easier, but they're mostly for fun + the hardest achievements will require knowledge of all the games anyways.

Pre-cleaned lineart for a sketch, I don't have the motivation to go and line the rest of the rough. Trying to strike a balance in my artstyle between cartoony, expressive and fluid like classic western animation while still having the more mature 'anatomically correct' look and beauty of a lot of anime styles but it's not going well. Little things like struggling to draw expressive faces, translating my style to anything that's not a cute girl/young boy like a guy who isn't a twink or figuring out how to make it dynamic and cartoony without their bodies starting to look like skinny spaghetti or being too childish. Anyway have this unfished Nue, I don't know what you'll get out of this but it bumps the thread at least.

>Didn't know you also made stuff outside of pixel art.
I normally don't, this was my first time drawing in Clip Studio and only like my fourth time drawing outside of pixel art. The only sort of interesting thing I did was use a gradient map for shading, since it's kinda similiar to how I shade in pixel art.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R022uQR2akA
>>
>>50847634
I'd recommend asking that fellow 103, he basically paints all of his pictures and his backgrounds tend to look pretty realistic. I'm no expert on them myself but whenever I've tried I just want to ENHANCE constantly, start simple and work your way down in detail.
>gradient map shading
I haven't actually tried this, maybe I should. I've used a lot of clipping to get colors and shading to work the way I want, but that's about it.
>>
>>50845913
really nice job bro
>>
>>50847607
You know why people are praising him, he could shit on a canvas and people here gladly would lick it up. (This is a joke people, you guys take everything way too seriously like r*ddit). It doesn't matter what he draws, he would get praise regardless.
>>50845913
Well, I am glad you tried something new but I have to admit, the drawing is not very appealing to me. However it is interesting to see you try a different style, you might be onto something if you continue on this path. Her body confuses me and looks broken, even considering perspective it looks very strange. She is literally just legs with no torso. Why do you always draw these crazy poses? It feels like you're trying to prove something, like showing off what wild wacky poses you can do, but... your drawings still feel flat, stiff, and lifeless. She's so dynamic but feels like a stiff statue at the same time. They always feel like that, I am trying to explain it in a good way but all I can come up with is "lifeless". It seems methodical. As if you are not truly feeling the character and art, you are only methodically creating it piece by piece, which creates a completed drawing at the end but it feels like you just put together a puzzle you created and aren't feeling the flow of a true work of art.

no idea who the artist is but i think the picture looks great. i would argue that the fade to black on the background doesn't give enough of a depth queue. perhaps drawing more of the hallway to fade out and blurring that may help
