Has anyone run across a Kasane Teto wig? She has 2 drill shaped curls on each side. I'm trying to decide if I need to modify an existing wig or if there's something off the shelf. Would be for a 1/3 scale bjd.

i've seen a couple of teto bjds around so it's possible but it might be a bit harder if you want the synth v version with her weird hair accessory thing
if you want something exact you probably have to look on taobao or commission someone but i do see a couple of ringlet wigs on acbjd that might be similar enough at least until you get something else. getting that exact vibrant shade of red out the box might be the most difficult part

It's really hard to tell from a picture like that. I have dolls in both skin tones, and even when they're next to each other it's hard to tell sometimes depending on lighting. If I had to guess, I'd say Semi-white. But like I said, it's really hard to tell.

I haven't personally, but I've heard good things about their poseability over the years? Someone with more knowledge in resin can hopefully chime in on that front; what I know of mostly pertains to the fuckhuge male dolls, so things may be different for the smaller ones as well.

You're right. The posing ability is quite poor.
I'm not sure about iplehouse being a lot better than volks.
My brand new volks resin bjd dolls poses okay at best, and become progressively worse over the years without re-stringing.
Most resins strung or vinyl dolls have posing issues that needs some mods to improve (leather suede joints, hanger wires).
Some people use multi-pronged arm stands for dynamic poses to take pictures.

My father had no problem with them, and most people I meet are, at most, positively curious about what you're doing if you have them out with you. Little old ladies WILL go out of their way to talk to you about their porcelain or reborn collection. People might judge you if they find out how much the hobby costs, but that goes for most hobbies in my experience. Most of all... find someone who support you for you. This isn't a harmful thing, it's a creative outlet, it's harmless fun. If anyone has a problem with it, you likely wouldn't be compatible on a deeper level, either.

Depends but most people wouldn't really care. They might think it's weird or 'huh' for a moment before they focus on something else. The only person that was bothered by my dolls was a guy who get weirded out by anything that's he sees as even slightly weird (almost everything) but most find my dolls cute or pretty when they examine them closer.
The only dolls that seem to bother people are life sized or anything that's closer to human sized. I don't think most BJD owners collect those dolls anyways (not sex dolls btw)

Does anybody know if the DOLK collab dolls that have Japanese faceup artists design the makeup, does that faceup artist do the actual makeup on the sold dolls too? Because for the Marin doll that just came out, there are some pretty noticeable differences in owner pictures. None of them look bad, but some of them are off compared to the original. Top left looks really good, while top right is missing a lot of details, bottom photo is the stock doll. I know that the artist Renya passed away after fighting illness for years, so I don't know if it's a matter of she was doing the makeup and some of it looks worse due to health complications and burnout, or if they had to find a new faceup artist after her passing, or if DOLK qc is just like that.

If it's any of the former I understand completely especially because of the circumstances, but if they had other artists from the start then I'm a bit put off from buying any dolls in the future.
