Not a lot of time to do the weeklies and unlock the monthly. Did I get this right? Weekly 1: send 2DE/2AV plus 2DD to 1-2 1-4 2-1 2-2 Weekly 2: send CVL(flag) plus 2DE to 1-3 1-5 2-3 1-6 (x3) No victory conditions so that means B-rank is sufficient?

Overall 5-6 feels like a easy-medium event map with the 3 gauges and different mechanics and enemy fleet composition. First 2 gauges, I'd use route support. Imps are quite annoying. Final gauge, use boss support. You want to clear out as much trash in the opening before touch. The only annoyance on the route is the air raid. The line ahead double Ta surprisingly have very low accuracy and haven't even chuuha'd anyone. Will not be returning to this map unless ranking. I've already got 33 of the akashi resource so I don't think I'll be bottle necked by them any time soon.
<12hrs left if you want ranking points from the monthly to count towards this month. After 2pm JST on the 31st, the monthly quest points will count towards next month.
Finally done with 5-6. Absolutely dogshit map. Boss has insane armour and it's like the penultimate event boss except you have no bonuses. Anyways, I recommend this (fix hotel guns) and boss support on final. You kinda need Kaya to night time crit.

The first two phases and chipping weren't that bad, although going through 3 phases again is a lot of setup, but the final kill is absurd. It took several tries until a doukousen touch sank both Wos and Re. Even that ideal run still came this close.

Does anybody here use poi? I wish EO worked on linux, poi has some nice features but seems to be lacking stuff like exporting fleet images and such, it's just really frustrating trying to get basic stuff working while kc3 has all of that in the strategy room but still looks as ass as ever.

How do you guys do your night battle ordering? Strongest hitters first in case they get wrecked? Or put them last to clean up whatever is left instead of randomly targeting some weak enemy?

If I have a utility mule (flare, searchlight etc), she is dead last because I really don't expect her to sink even some random trash unless it is in a normal map or really easy opposing fleet composition.

>>50999700 Depends on the enemy. For killing high armor bosses, similar to >>50999710 except with the searchlight holder positioned to do scratch damage before the last attacker's turn. Others can be arranged depending on whether there's strong enemies expected to survive and hit hard. For example, if there's 3 himes and 3 weak enemies, the top 3 could be strong attackers so they can go before the enemies fire, with a cutin as flag, the searchlight holder can go 4th or 5th, and a strong attacker will be 6th. If it's just one boss and weak trash, cutin flag, searchlight second, then double attacks, then cutins.
If the day battle is dangerous, the strongest cutin can be flag to get protection, but if there isn't much incoming damage expected, the strongest can be at the end. If it's one of those maps where there's no choice but to refresh after failed runs to save plane ranks, the searchlight/utility/asw/whatever goes last to leave extra time for refreshing after the last real attacker. If you're going to use dong formation along the route, you have to plan around that. If there's installations and PT boats, those have to be killed in the right order, and Amagiri and Momocchi can be slotted in for that. If a ship with low luck has a huge event bonus, she can be a cutin flagship. Think about how an ideal boss run would play out.
If you're trying to survive a night battle along the route, like in 5-3 and 6-5 south, you'll need multi-attacks like Nelson touch and night zuiun procs at the top, with double attackers going before cutins.

How do I do the DMM point grind now? They changed it back in February and cut back the amount of points you could get per day and made it more confusing overall. Is the point grind gone or is there another way to do it?

If you have enough slots to spare, hoarding Maruyus until a tough boss fight lets you use them on the ship you're killing the boss with.

Air raids typically need 5-6 nodes to trigger sometime even to boss, especially when you need them to trigger. There's no way Maruyu can survive past 3-4.
For airbase leveling, just use any lvl1 sub or even a lvl 1DD. You can dispose of them when they're no longer needed.
She's not a durable sub tank, the overkill just means she gets taiha in 2 shots instead of 1.
I want to level my Gamby for the July bulldozer yearly. Is it worth spending my precious screws for the AARB so I can do 5-2 or 7-5? From my calculations it seems the trigger rate would be only 50% with one, or 60% with two, that seems too low to be safe.

To get that weekly 7-4, I need LBAS to help with the sub killing. So I've set up my first LBAS.
But I guess I don't have the right planes yet. I've got Model 11 which is fine but probably not enough on its own, and otherwise only autogyros and the type 3 liason. However these reduce the range to 1 or 2, and I need 3. The Catalina is supposed to extend the range but somehow doesn't work for these? Any tips?

For 7-4, I run Ryuuhou w/ night planes, Hyuuga, Yahagi, 1 duck and two strong DDs like Fletcher/Yuugumo class so they can both oASW and cut-in. But since you just need an A rank, focus on double attacks + oASW and let the LBAS take out surface ships. I also suggest running sparkled expedition 5 and clearing all your quests.
>>51009116 Yeah, get that tokai. I run the map with 1 fighter, 1-2 bombers, and 1-2 tokai, with the goal of wiping subs out before regular shelling starts so the asw ships can try to scratch the boss and line ahead can be used. For A rank you won't need to worry about weakening the boss.
None of the stuff in the following S rank comp is cheap, so you'll have to make do with what you have, but you only need a small fraction of this power to get A rank. I run CVE with night cutin and OASW, Hyuga kai ni with helicopter (B132) OASW, Yahagi with OASW and night scout, one escort with full ASW, Fubuki and Shigure with torpedo cutin or AACI and OASW (or alternatively Fletcher class with 2x 5in+GFCS guns and an ASW item, or 4 slot duck kai ni with AACI+OASW). Prioritize getting through the route as safely as possible, which benefits from bringing lots of OASW.
