You CAN learn Japanese
You CAN become fluent
You CAN move to Japan
You CAN assimilate and follow Japanese cultural and societal norms
You CAN abandon your d culture and language
You CAN become a Japanese citizen
You CAN renounce your old citizenship
You CAN get a good job with good work/life balance and little to no overtime even in Tokyo
You CAN marry a cute Japanese girl and start a family together
You CAN give all of your children Japanese names and raise them with Japanese as their native language and Japanese culture as their default
You CAN have a good life living as a normal Japanese person in Japan

SO WHY DON'T YOU FUCKING DO IT?!?

I'm not projecting anything, I live in Japan.

Im learning the language rn but i dont think the rest is feasible for me. I work warehouse/delivery jobs so i dont think there’s a path for me to move there. Also almost 30 so moving there is just gonna get harder as time goes on. If you are young though for sure you can. The language however can be done by anyone and you have no excuse not to.
>>
>>50977501
And?
You're projecting that you consider your country a "a fucked up shithole", it's not my problem that you're third worlder.
You couldn't pay me to move to Japan

You and I are from the same country, retard.

Learning japanese is painful. I'm in my 30's, I put all my skill points in programming and music production, learning a new language that uses weird symbols is PAINful.

If Japan wants real quality immigrants from the west and not just JET weebs they will have to fix their shit. Either let people get PR and access to welfare or don't tax them for it. No one worth a damn will let a foreign country they move to slash their earnings while cutting them out like that.
Their current system is good at attracting desperate people from poorer parts of Asia tho, I guess.

>weird symbols
I promise you, kanji makes so much fucking sense it's insane.
My go-to example is this:
In English, you have "dog" and "puppy" with zero correlation between those words.
In Japanese 犬 means dog and 子 means child. So guess what 子犬 means.
The grammar is tough, memorizing all the different readings of kanji is tough, but the kanji itself is so fucking intuitive that it makes me realize how fucking retarded English is.
>>
>>50980824
But that puppy dog thing is just one cherry-picked example of how kanjis combine nicely. Is it really like that, is it really that nice or is it a clusterfuck of nonsensical shit and you just cherry-picked the easiest one?
>>
>>50980831
He just picked one of the example where kanji does accidentally make sense.
Kanji in lot of cases doesn't really make much sense no matter how you look at it. In some cases they used to, but as the writing evolved it lost that (魚 is pretty interesting example of that considering that literally used to be a drawn fish but it doesn't look like that nowadays).

Though kanji combinations usually do make at least some sense, even if for some you have to understand the culture, one example of that comes to mind would be 馬鹿(baka) lit. horse-deer, that comes from a Chinese phrase "to call a deer a horse"
>>
>>50980905
I see, that's what I suspected. But why? I just ask why did it evolve into something that's less intuitive? Is it partially because the spoken language somehow evolved on its own and the written language followed those changes? I have no idea, I'm just wondering out loud.

I'm poor and no self respecting country lets run of the mill poorfags in.

>>50980824
I find the grammar isn't too bad vs the kanji hurdle. Most of it is just every word functioning as a modifier for the one next to it, and they basically just speak like Yoda if you were trying to find an English allegory.
>>
>>50980918
Mostly due to writing speed and comfort, also because the writing became more standardized over time.
>>
>>50980918
More or less. It's just archaic nuances that persisted in some form as they got trimmed down over time as they morphed into the modern tongue. A lot of the weird things with Japanese that seem to trip people up can be summarized by "it used to be this way, now it's not, but a lot of archaic remnants show up in the modern tongue." Which can be said about pretty much any language with a sizeable speaking/writing population.

What if I don't want a 3DPD
>>
>>50979813
He is right though. The current system in Japan actively discourages people who are willing to settle in and integrate into their society and promotes pajeets who will just go there to do cheap labor and fuck off with that all that money to their mudshed as soon as their visa expires.

It's a mixed bag. Sometimes the individual kanji that make up a word make perfect sense like that Anon's example. Sometimes they make zero fucking sense, other times they kinda make sense but it's more of a hindsight thing and not something that will 100% tell you the meaning of the word when you first see it. From my experience it's like 30% shit that makes a lot of sense, 20% nonsense, 50% shit that kinda makes sense
>>
>>50976895
I can't their garbage management system and their hidden rules. It drives me insane.

I spent a decade on therapy to heal the result of living in a toxic environment.
From my perspective their collective society goes against my values as an individualist who desires freedom.
What do I do?

I am studying to work on the medical field i dont think that this kind of job is the one where you can simply move on to another country and get a job there.
>>
>>50980831
>>
>>50979068
This isn't even mentioning the shit work culture or JPY collapsing. When USD:JPY hits 200:1, even Prashant will make more than the average Japenis wagie. The politicians are burning the entire treasury to backstop it each time it pushes 160:1, yet do absolutely nothing to address the fundamental issue.
>>
>>50980824
Kanji are just Chinese symbols thrown over a completely unrelated language. You could put it over English and get the same, if not better results. You should be learning Chinese not Japanese if you want intuitive symbols.
>>
>>50982255
>medical field i dont think that this kind of job is the one where you can simply move on to another country and get a job there.
It is if you move to America.

people who talk about learning japanese are so insufferable that it pushes me away from ever wanting to
>>
>>50976895
Japanese CAN'T speak English though
>>
>>50978154
Kanji makes a million times more sense than trying to write code.
>>
>>50984271
I've wasted at least 10 000 hours designing and writing code, so it makes sense to me.
>>
I've been aimlessly learning Japanese since last year. Learned Hirana, Katakana and so far 115 Kanji characters. Not sure what to do next besides learning more Kanji.
>>
>>50987601
Why are you learning kanji instead of just learning words and grammar?
>>
>>50987601
You should be learning grammar and reading asap. And like the other anon said, learn words. Kanji in isolation will only help you so much.
>>
I'll learn Japanese to talk to people online I guess and for hobbyist reasons, but living there seems hellish socially. Also, money. Unless you live in some thirdie country, I don't understand the appeal of living in Japan. Visiting is another thing.
>>
>>50976895
I don't need to do any of that to enjoy chirumiru Cirno.
>>
>>50976895
Already did the first two and now working on everything up to

Not so easy when you're a clueless poor retard third worlder who wasted half a decade of his life though.

OHAIOU GOZAIMASU DEGOZARU

I just saw an advertisement for /jp/ saying I shouldn't come here

is it because Japan is so popular and the veteran expat-sans of /jp/ don't want to see "more frickin white people"?

should I still learn Nipponese to order some Makudonaldso manko? (big mac)

I feel like an expert on Japan because I've been watching Abroad in Japan since he did his famous "teaching Japanese to swear in Eigo" video!
>>
>>51002765
yes!
>>
>>50987825
NTA but I personally started with grinding common kanji, and found that helpful down the road.
When I saw a new word, I usually recognized the kanji, which gave me an idea of likely readings, made it easier to look up in a dictionary, and the meanings of the individual kanji often give hints to the meaning of the word.
How does studying words first, when the kanji are completely unrecognizable, even work? I feel like that's kinda the equivalent of a child being taught to read words without learning the actual alphabet first.
>>
>>50977360
Japan is nice because it's 99% Ethnic Japanese
Moving there is a wedge to excuse 50 million Indians flooding in after me
No, I have a soul. I wont do that to the Japanese.
Enjoy Japan through regular tourism, not immigration
