for this one, paint chips off easily, the closing mechanism has some flaws, movement is seriously inhibited, the backhair is part of the shell - so there's a lot of empty space which makes breathing especially hard because the air pools inside and its hard to breathe in a way that fresh air gets in. also sweat and condensation water pools up inside the tips of the hair.

to get out you have to remove the front bangs where the magnets keeping it in place are fighting the structural integrity of the whole part. then you have to open the latches to flip up the face. the latches also slam the ears if you aren't careful.

i might have a particularly annoying one, or maybe it annoys me more than others, idk.
so its really just my own experience.

Don't know if this helps but what I usually do is looking through a maker's previously made masks so that I can find one similar to what I have in mind (be it hairstyle, expression, accessories, etc) and if they made the character I want before, even better. From there I can have a general idea of how my mask will turn out if I commission them. I repeat it for as many makers as possible to find one I'm most satisfied with. Also if you do commission one, always tell them to show you the 3D model first so that you can give your opinion before it goes into production.

There are many nitpicks I have about my mask but I also recognize I'm autistic and have looked at this character way more than the average person so I'm naturally gonna pick up on inaccuracies more. Though, given what I paid it does kinda sting.

You just kinda have to accept that you can't be 100% sure. I've seen kigs with entirely wrong hair colors for their character and they still end up looking fine. If you choose a good maker with a good track record of doing the kind of character you want you will generally be fine. That way, even if they tremendously fuck up you will be still be leagues ahead of people who pick bad makers or people who pick makers who cannot do their desired character.

For me personally, I have a list of makers in mind, and if I need to check their style I will go through their social media and taobao store, or search up people who bought their masks on twitter. Furthermore, whenever I see a kiger with nice mask, especially one that fits my needs, I look for their first ever post of said mask because they usually include the maker in it, if not then I will just ask them directly. But you can use the kigguide for reference, or kiger.top, a chinese website that has a list of all available makers.
