Cute pic!
Thanks for the compliment, the Daft Punk shirt is a custom order from AngelMarieBoutique on Etsy, and the jean jacket is from Nine9Style but I customized it myself with the rhinestones.
Outtake to have a picture post.

I have a confession to make. About 3ish years ago I bought Azone's Akebi-chan, I was even able to score the DX version with the summer uniform and a little desk for her to sit at (actually there are two for some reason). She was my first doll and after opening the box for a quick look I closed it back up until I had time to build one of the desks since I didn't have any stands for her. Fast-forward and I've bought 5 other dolls, an ever-expanding stash of clothes, plus stands and other accessories. Meanwhile, she sat in the box in a closet for so long I forgot I even owned her. I remembered her finally this weekend and unboxed her thinking she'd be sticky from plasticizer and/or stained from her clothes (she comes dressed in her winter uniform). I'm pleased to report that she is totally fine and is now hanging out with the rest of my doll family where she belongs. I still can't believe I forgot all about her, I feel bad but also relieved that no harm seems to have been done.

if this anon ever became a parent, he'd get on news for forgetting his child in the locked car in the middle of July.

Go to meetups, organize your own, make friends in the hobby so you can have a faceup hangout and share the love of dolls in person. It was a lot of fun.

I've seen people with Otohimes but never anyone with one of these
https://paraboxshop.jp/index_en_jpy_1034.html
A doll almost the size of myself seems intimidating, I wonder how sex doll owners deal with it
>>
>>51002433
I imagine the wide availability of clothes is great, you don't need any kind of specialty shop. Although I could do without those giant hobbit feet.
>>
How do we start this hobby? I am genuinly interested.
>>51001375
cute
>>
>>51002503
I thought so too but looking at the measurements I don't think even a children's small would fit well, probably too tight around the chest and too large everywhere else.
>>51002631
We have guides in the OP!
I'm also not a dollfriend since I'm broke so I can't really say "join us" but I'm sure you get the sentiment.
>>
>>51002631
first find out what size and style of doll you want, then find a cute one. proceed to buy doll.
you are now a dollfriend
>>
>>51002433
most hideous joints I've ever seen

Now that you mention it, I'm looking again and the way her knees are kinda makes it look like she's got horse legs with the really high ankle.
>>
>>51002433
Why not get a dollmore Trinity doll then?
Its about the same size but just not anime looks.
>>
>>51004246
>not anime looks
thats the problem
also trinities are twice to three times the prize, much better clothes and body so that does make up for that though
>>
You guys ever had the thought of gifting your dolls to your kids one day? I feel like I'll likely do that in the god-knows-when future.
>>
>>51004768
I don't think I'll ever have a wife, let alone kids, anon. Truthfully, my dolls will either die with me, or I'll try to get them to one of the anon here before I go (if it is going to be soon)
>>
>>51004768
I'm already in talks with a lawyer to make sure my dolls are sealed with me in a mausoleum.
I'm the Pharaoh and they are my Ushabti.

Had some leftover flower-print fabric from a gift I made for a friend that I turned into a kimono. Also my first attempt at making a hakama.

Also noticed these tiny drawer knobs on a recent trip to the hardware store and thought they'd make a neat basis for an ancient looking scroll. Combined with a dowel rod and some wood stain later and the result looks pretty neat.

Its her Birthday!
I had wanted to buy her a doll cake, but I was outbid on it. It wouldn't have arrived on time anyway. So, I settled on just getting her a balloon. The outdoor photo was terrible because of the wind blowing and the balloon would not stay still.

Tanjobi omedetou!
Be honest, how difficult was it taking a picture of the balloon outside facing forwards like that?
>>
>>51011449
I spammed the shutter button and took about 30-40 shots, that was the only 1 witch the balloon was aligned.
The photoshoot went like this...

No,
She had surgery... if that was your question..
The large oppai torsos are difficult to care for and I put them away quickly after photos are done. They pick up dust like crazy, can rip, can stain, and are difficult to clean
>>
When did this place get so cliquey? Wasnt this bad a few years ago...

Elitism.
Which is funny considering how overrated Japanese bjds are, or rather, how shitty their business practices translates into "Muh rare bland piece of plastic!"

>>51015192
Is it really that cliquey? I think there are just less posts of random dolls now because we don't have to bump the thread nearly as often in autosage hell. I can go back to doing that though, I don't mind.

In other news, Dolls Party LA 2026 is later this year for anyone inclined to attend.

lol no.
The standards in here is pretty low.
That anon just seems like trying to stir drama.

>>51016063
Very beautiful girls ready for the outdoors!
>>
>>51015866
At worst, people here will complain about recasts but it's very rarely brought up and even if you post a recast here, unless you both explicitly call it a recast and defend recasting in that very post, then people here won't hound you.
This is probably the least cliquey place to discuss bjds on the internet. Anywhere outside of here is way shittier with their hatred for any type of doll that's outside of their very tiny sliver of "acceptable ones".
>>
>>51016332
Yeah, it's so weird how DoA was all "only resin bjds" and excluded vinyl and porcelain. It just seems like such a meaningless distinction.
>>
>>51015192
>cliquey
in what way? I've never seen any kind of doll get posted that people didn't faun over. The only time people are standoffish around here tends to be when someone stirs up some shit.
This is primarily a vinyl BJD thread, but any scale or material BJD is welcome, we just don't deal with fashion or fuck dolls. There are other threads for that.
>>
>>51015866
I went last year, but just for the shopping. It's nice and people there are pretty friendly. There's also a LOT of gorgeous dolls people bring and display. Worth it if you're local, totally.
>>
>>51016376
ww See they didn't actually exclude ALL vinyl dolls, so it was even more ridiculous than you'd think. As long as you're mentally ill enough to drop at least a few hundred dollars on a doll, you're good people in my book.
>>
>>51017070
Yeah, there was the grandfathered dolls from before they decided to go all resin. Still weird, they could've just did different boards for different types or something.
>>

It's weird that the most peaceful place in a community has wound up being a goddamn board on 4chan. Not that I'm complaining, mind.
>>
>>51017142
It's hard to get caught up in drama when all we know each other by is our dolls.
>>
>>51015192
>When did this place get so cliquey?
Bootleg spam and gooner cringe drove everyone else off.
>>
>>51017702
>Bootleg spam
Never happened.
>gooner cringe
You sound like someone with many schizos inside who don't get along well.
