It is an FNC manufactured by either FN or CG, both of which has a long history of producing excellent firearms with good quality, accuracy and reliability standards.
So yes it is a good rifle.
>Would you like one?
If someone gave me one for free, sure. They are solid rifles and all, but a bit on the heavy side for a 5.56mm assault rifle. It doesn't really do anything better than a basic AR-15 other than having a folding stock.
I would still buy one if it was affordable and I had the option to, but if planets align and somebody sells parts kits of them to the US to rebuild they would probably each cost an absolute fortune.

It's alright, just a lot heavier than AR-15-based platforms.
It does however perform better than AR-based platforms in extremely cold conditions.
Also those cool green translucent mags suck ass. And this >>65079285 variant is an unreliable piece of shit that shouldn't exist.
Fun fact: If you ride over through terrain at high speed in the back of a CV-90 with one of these rifles, you WILL end up being intimately familiar with the odd mixture of flavors that is blood, gun oil, and powder residue, after you get involuntarily face-fucked by the flash hider of you own rifle.
You'll never guess how I know this... At least I only busted my lip, not any of my teeth. Other's weren't so lucky.

I own an FNC. It's nice, but pretty overrated. I prefer my AR. Others have talked about the weight, but I'll add the weight seems kind of front heavy while an AR is more balanced. It also puts into perspective just how lithe the AR is. The FNC is just a bulkier gun. Not in a way that hinders anything, but when you're used to the AR, the FNC just feels notably larger. The G36 and ARX160 felt the same way.

>It's the Swedish AK5, which while based on FNC, is also its own thing.
The only functionally different parts are the front gas block and rear sight. Everything else (hanguard, trigger guard, grip, stock, bolt handle, etc.) are just ergonomic/cosmetic changes. It's really just an FNC.

Having carried an M4 on deployment and ridden around with it in armored vehicles for days on end, I don't think it's that much of an improvement, but I wasn't mech infantry trying to spill out the back of a Bradley/cv90 as fast as possible.
