Summer is upon us, anons. Will you sit at your computer in a dark room and moan online about trivial instances of ignorance and foolishness displayed by “tourists” on a singaporean betamax collecting forum, or will you go out and explore our world’s hidden treasures and horrors in a heavily armed fashion and return to share your adventures with your comrades? /k/ of late has far too much whining and far too little STALKING, so let’s turn that around. I’ll start by sharing my stalk of the B-24 Dragon bomber crash zone at Loon Lake, Idaho the last couple days. I don’t have STALKER challenge rules in a suitable resolution, so if you do, please post.

>picrel: near the highest elevation portion of the trail, ~6,000 ft. No mutants spotted in old wildfire burn scar area.

>bomber site located with some difficulty. Area is quite flooded this time of year. A couple of non-stalkers encountered earlier on the trail seemingly gave up. Good — they’d have stood no chance against a zone threat. Large portions of plane are easily identifiable, but shredded. Jagged metal and fetid swamp water everywhere.

I read up on it, the lake must have been covered by meter thick ice which in turn was covered by snow, meaning that they had an ideal improvised runway to land on. They slid off the lake at high speed and cut trough the trees to end up 100 meters inland. All crew survived with only two people suffering small injuries.

Exorbitant property prices and increasing population mass at recreational and service locations seem to be the main results. Lots of right wing califags coming here for understandable reasons, so I’m not seeing much of a swing leftward; quite the opposite in many cases. Overall as a native Idahoan it’s a little sad or annoying to see the change, but it could be so much worse. Idaho is still absolutely a top tier place in which to be a /k/ommando in any event, so no real

Fuck off we’re full. Just kidding anon, if you’re ITT I’m probably glad to have you. Just please please make sure to whine about Idaho’s cold winters and boring lack of diversity to any insufferable normie acquaintances of yours back home.
>>
>>65191056
Boo hoo faggot, move somewhere better if you dislike your surroundings instead of whining at strangers online. There’s only one person in charge of what kind of life you lead, and it sure isn’t me or anyone else sharing neat pics of the adventures they’re going well out of their way to enjoy.
>>
>>65192588
might be a tough location for trekking through in full kit cause theres somehow always people around but check out the Kinzua bridge wreckage, it’s a really cool stalking spot cause of the ruins of the bridge and surrounding forrest

Probably just Saturday-Sunday, maaaybe I could get there Friday evening though. Send it if you can, the drive will be annoying but the larp should be a lot of fun. I’ve never met anyone through /k/ before lol, hopefully you understand that sharing of desserts between my IRL friend crew and any new online acquaintances will be strictly verboten.

One can only hope, anon. Behaving in an exceptionally courteous, friendly manner while visibly armed to the teeth and savoring the double-takes and nervousness that exudes from shocked noguns urbanites and blue staters is one of life’s little pleasures for any true /k/ommando. Innawoods is no place for such creatures unless they can at the very least handle seeing a little ‘tism being harmlessly exercised.

I'll see if I can make it. I'll keep you updated. Definitely sounds like fun, definitely won't be sharing any desserts...

Anyone here like to explore innawoods on 2 wheels? I wanna do more motocamp stuff. A Medium Alice pack makes a decent saddlebag for a smaller bike too.
>>
1.6 MB
>>65199645
Yes. Though carrying my rifle while on my bike has always been a bit of a chore
>>
>>65193094
thought about it for a couple seconds; even if you're the nicest guy ever and we chat for a couple minutes about guns, I still won't be comfortable turning my back on you, and i won't like to remember you're there
same reasoning as if I came across some weeb with a sword, you never know how retards gonna act
>>
>>65199661
How do you usually go about it? Slung across your back? I usually only end up bringing my M9 in a shoulder holster when I take the bike out.
>>
>>65199733
I usually have it stuffed in a scabbard strapped to the side of my bike, along my bags. If I'm just doing forest roads or something that works well enough, but it gets in the way if I'm doing snything remotely technical. And single track, you can forget about it. I think a pack that holds it high on my back would be the way to go, but I haven't come up with a good solution. My brother has a scab ard on his front fork and that works well for him, just not an option for me

>>
>>65199645
Cool oldschool bike. Is that a factory color? Cause with some cloth covers over headlight, indicators and tail lamp to kill reflections it would be surprisingly well camouflaged...
>>
>>65199798
Thanks! Yeah I'm pretty sure the plastics are factory. The fuel tank was replaced by my buddy who I bought it from. It's a Kawasaki KLR250. Funny enough they were used as scout bikes by the marines before they switched to that diesel KLR650 variant. But yeah I wanna get a quieter muffler (stock one was destroyed so it has a raspy ass aftermarket one on it now) for it. The thought did cross my mind to do some other "stealthy" mods to it, but I've got enough other projects atm.
>>
>>65199739
>>65199756
I don't really do too many super technical trails as I still need to get some more experience on dirt/sand (mostly just street rode until about a year or so ago) but thanks for the insight! I think I should be able to rig up something similar to that that'd work for me. There's apparently a guy at my local range who sometimes shows up with rifles in a bag strapped across his handlebars on a harley. Which is cool for just riding to the range but seems a bit wide for any trails
>>
>>65199700
Can’t really blame you desu. There are definitely some deranged nut jobs innawoods from time to time. All the more reason to stay heavily armed, though. Normies acting visibly uncomfortable at the sight of weapons certainly isn’t doing anything to help protect them.
>>
>>65199861
>strapped across the handle bars
I hadn't really considered this before but I'm going to try and see how it will work when I have time now, sounds like it might work well for shorter rifles

>>
>>65200169
Call of the Zone for me, a spinoff by the late DoctorX with his mods baked in. Made sense for me, since I'd download them all anyway when playing CoC. Never got into Anomaly when that was the thing, too much Miseryshit for my taste. I know lots of stalkers enjoy the hardcore survivalism, but for me, I prefer Stalker as an atmospheric openworld shooter, so I only care about mods that give me excuses to get into shootouts, and mods that expand the arsenal so I can play with whatever toy I feel like on a particular day or playthrough. I've heard of Gamma but never tried it myself, seemed like it was just more of the same as Anomaly.
>>
>>65202319
Maybe you're getting helped by normies and their lack of understanding of guns? Wood = not scary, fixed mag = not scary, iron sights = not scary. Plastic = scary, detachable mag = scary (especially if protruding noticeably from magwell), optics = scary (especially if recognizable from cowadooty).

>I've got enough other projects atm
Totally understandable. Friend's got a UTV and wants to do some "stealth mods" to it as well (second muffler, blackout switch for lights etc.), I'm helping him with camo stuff but so far I only got to making a snow camo cover for it.*

You can always start with the smallest things once time permits like putting old socks over mirrors and indicators and tying a sandbag over the license plate and tail light...

*BTW non-woven gardening fabric (that kind used for protecting plants from frost) works surprisingly well for snow camo - weighs and costs almost nothing and packs small...

Tick psyop thread.
They know they cannot infiltrate your cozy living spaces so they will try to entice you into going outside and touching grass, where they lurk for unsuspecting marks
>>
Nice to see a stalker thread up. I don't get innawoods nearly as much as I should these days, but last month I left a cache. Was unsure if I wanted to post coordinates publicly or not but fukkit the spot is well known and won't last too much longer because apparently they're putting solar fields in. Don't shit the place up if you go there though. And you can't drive up to it anymore, you'll probably need to hike in from the edge.

I usually just make guns a lot heavier to represent them being awkward to carry, but I give them a fair value. That feels more realistic, because IRL you'd likely only have the ability to haul a couple extra rifles without losing the ability to move around and fight.

The games really should have had a limited-size grid-based inventory menu that expands with better gear or artifacts that increase carry capacity, rather than an infinite grid with just carry weight. The volume of what I'm trying to carry when stalking is generally a bigger issue than the actual weight, especially since I run a SMERSH with an NVA ruck most of the time. Ancient pic but this should give a good idea of what it looks like.

Curious to see what other people use for sleeping systems.

You should probably just have a toolkit that size let alone your own gear
>>
>>65218282
What kinda stuff would you recommend? Spare tubes and hand pump, maybe a chain beaker and spare master link, and some spare fuses, maybe a bit of wire. Some fuel line and a filter. Beyond that I think is above the level of trail fix though and the stuff i listed plus the tools to install them can be pretty compact.

Based. Never got into hammocks myself but they seem comfy.
>>
>>65218875
Hammocks are probably the best comfort per weight/bulk of any camping sleep system and they're usually quicker than a tent to set up. The only rub is they don't work everywhere because you actually need something sturdy to tie off to at roughly the right spacing and they're a little less sneeki breeki because you're physically higher off the ground than like a small tent or bivy. For me, for in the woods, it's definitely my preferred method unless I'm either car camping or going somewhere I know it wouldn't work.
