Don't have one yet but have been saving up for a Mateba Unica for a long time, and am finally getting close thanks to recent gains in investments and higher income. Just such a beautiful gun, aesthetically and mechanically. They're going for 15-25k nowadays, but thankfully the one I want is the most common and cheapest version, .357 blued. Maybe nickel if I could get it for cheap enough but they tend to be way more. And yeah I know it's a good investment since these things are never going to drop in price, but dropping 15k+ without being a homeowner is hard to justify imo.

If someone who owns one is lurking itt, post it, I wanna feel the envy

Interesting. Why did someone choose to change the caliber?
>>
>>65205149

it was a batch of a couple thousand rebored, not rebarreled, by madsen in the 1950's.
>>
>>65205135

Not with the 8 bore. I'm a Bong and the licensing is complicated. Presently it's registered as "obsolete calibre." I could reload and make ammo for it, but I'd have to register it etc. Also, here, you can't use lead for waterfowl and it's not proofed for steel..

So, a lot of hassle if I want to shoot it, but I DO want to shoot it, so maybe I'll jump through all the fucking hoops...

>>
>>65205154
Neat.
>>
>>65205175
Being a prissy bitch I know but "obsolete calibre" isn't a registration.

There is no registration of Section 58 guns.

Also iirc there are some issues around getting S58 guns proofed in the UK before being used at some ranges but I haven't done it myself. I don't know if it would be applicable to hunting anyway.

>>65203646
Not a gun but I've got the magazine for an EM-2, I did know of an EM-2 (deactivated) for sale a few years back but no idea how much it sold for/where.

I'm hoping to find a Danish 8mm Madsen gun for sale or maybe a Dutch 6.5mm Lewis gun at some point, they're legal in the UK without a licence (coz Section 58) and I think it would be extremely funny to own one for that alone.
>>
>>65205468
>Being a prissy bitch I know but "obsolete calibre" isn't a registration.

You are of course, quite correct. But I would have to get it registered and add it to my licence if I were to use it. As to the proofing requirements etc etc. I'll cross that bridge if my urge to use it becomes over powering...

Dont know how rare they actually are but got a Laseraim that people only remember from Tank Girl. Got a good deal on it for 400, smoothest shooting pistol I have. Takes 1911 magazines but only specific ones with longer bottoms will fit the grip. Ironically didnt come with a laser. Biggest issue is the ejector will shoot out of the frame with the force of a thousand suns the second the slide comes off and Ive lost it twice already. Think they bankrupted in the 90s or something and sold all their patents to AMT. The chamber ramp angle really doesnt like hollow points but if you can shove one in the chamber it will cycle through the whole magazine reliably.

I have a S&W Model 10-6 that was chambered from the factory in .357 Magnum. It was a precursor to the Model 13, only a few thousand were made, most went to the NY State Police, who were the ones that requested such a gun to begin with. It's functionally just a Model 13, but with a different roll mark. Still pretty cool imo. Pictured here with aftermarket grips.

>Anyone have a rare gun
I guess technically my Maxim 9 is probably sorta "rare", it sadly wasn't very successful before getting discontinued. I only got mine (on steep discount) many years after they came out and it's still a sub-450 serial #. Honestly I wonder if they even got to the thousands of total production? Even though it's modern if there are <1k in existent, even <2k, then it's not some unobtanium but not common either.
>that probably no one else on /k/ has?
lol not this though, I know at least 3 other anons have one. Even in 2026 /k/ is still not an average slice of the population. Lots of /k/ommandos have super cool unusual stuff (or even made their own, like that mindblowing wa2000 clone that anon had threads on last year).

Shoots extremely nice.
The Hornady Black 5.45 is the perfect ammunition. Doesn't cause issues with the tight tolerances like other brands do.

A gunshop in a ghetto part of town was selling a bunch of rifles from a collection. They had everything priced wonky. Some were high, some were low. I was really low on cash, but was a able to get 4 rifles total.

Anon who's actually doing that here, just finished the first year of my college program yesterday. You'd at least be into the six figure range to get machines that could work with the materials and get decent accuracy with them and that's before you even get into barrel making, which is a whole black art in and of itself (there's a reason the vast majority of gun companies buy barrels from a relatively small number of makers) and it's especially bad with the Meatball because it absolutely has to have a completely custom barrel with weird features. That's before you get into all of the nuances of heat treating, finishes, tolerancing, etc. too.
>>
>>65211851
>whole black art in and of itself (there's a reason the vast majority of gun companies buy barrels from a relatively small number of makers)
It's a widely understood process with a ton of info out there. Most manufacturers buy barrels because they are simply too small to justify the startup costs. The vast majority of barrels made are used by the same companies to make their own guns.

>I wanted to buy one of these but had no money to speak of when they were findable at gun stores.
Yeah there was a window of time where stores were trying to get rid of them. I got mine for like $950 instead of whatever it was retail, another kommando got theirs for $800-something. Then poof they were gone. Wish I'd gotten an extra.
>Now that I got a job and money I can't find any, anywhere.
Yeah I had no idea they were discontinued until they vanished. Damn shame, particularly since there was a 3rd gen in production that people who tried it said significantly improved the trigger, and also a non-nfa version that was still fixed barrel and would have been a cool suppressor host. I'd held some hopes that eforms and no more tax and how much easier, faster and cheaper it's gotten for NFA stuff would mean they'd give it another go but nothing so far.
>How do you like it? How's it shoot? Looks so fuckin sick.
I like it a lot, it's my main woods hg actually. Great suppression and compact, despite not being one of the fancy modern 3d printed designs. The one real noticeable downside is the trigger, it's perfectly adequate but definitely somewhat squishy etc. Nothing amazing on that front. But the experience of shooting it otherwise is surprisingly great. The weight balance is very good, and while the suppressor is the obvious bit the fixed barrel delayed gas isn't exactly common on handguns either. It's incredibly soft shooting, and the optic doesn't move which is neat (though if they'd done a top rail instead mlike like the Alien approach they could have given more flexibility in where you put it).

If they ever do go back to it and do a 3rd gen, maybe updating the suppressor design too just because, I'd certainly recommend it. But sadly they seem to have entered "collector bullshit" territory nowadays.

For every 1000 pawn shops you'll find one with something interesting.
Depends how much you like gambling.

I have this M1886 still chambered in 11×58mmR - it also has what appears to be a Krag bayonet lug instead of the usual stacking rod.

There are some initials carved into the stock, it undoubtedly has a very interesting history.

What can people actually do with your serial number? Or even just a pic of your gun?
>>
>>65215106
Would all the time.
My buddy and I would just take a road trips across Texas hitting up small town shops.
But you have to be super knowledgeable on stuff. Once we found a vk98 listed for $300 among other cheap milsurp. They assumed it was just another sporterized mauser.
Another time we found a "broken" G41W that actually only had the piston carbon-locked. On several occasions we would find really high-end pre-war sporter rifles that were being sold as cheap dear hunting rifles. Nobody wanted them because they were in weird calibers.

With the internet these days, many of these small town shops just list their stuff on Gunbroker. But it was fun finding rare guns that some kid sold from his late grandads collection for money to mod his truck or whatever.

Although it's worth noting that, while harder, you can still find stuff going in person even with this. Because the thing about a Gunbroker listing is that on some level it's only as good as the people doing the listing. I mean sure some guns are so obviously unusual just from a picture and so special that even if busted they'll still attract tons of interest. But to take your own example, you can't just trivially realize that something listed as "broken" is only carbon-locked over the internet. And additionally gunbroker is absolutely flooded with stuff, so there is the info sifting problem, people will just filter out stuff that can let a few gems slip through.

Which isn't to say it's easy, I mean shit, that's basically by definition, if it was common and easy to find it wouldn't be "rare" duh. But small pawnshops don't have perfect information either even with the internet and even in the middle of nowhere. And even if LLM shit might actually help with perfect information, it doesn't help either with imperfect motivation and a lot of little rando LGS don't aren't actually autistic obsessives like a lot of anons are. One of the classic reasons to go to the bother is simply to get the FFL benefits and then do the minimum to run a business that the ATF won't shut down and maybe make it all break even or earn a little. Someone doing that could have some neat stuff if they're the only place in miles but also not really give enough of a shit to spend hours researching anything they're not into personally.

Probably the SVT-38 but it wouldn't surprise me if a Canuck or Euro here had one.

JGA 22lr Training Mauser.
Rare probably not, uncommon maybe. A Yugo 98/48 that is actually marked as so.

They can theoretically report it stolen, which would be incredibly illegal and also they'd get caught immediately, so if they really want to just send themselves to prison for no reason that's fine with me
Also the gummint knows you have it, but if you bought it at a store they know that shit anyway

Pawn shop in town had some really cool turn-of-the-century guns, there was a Colt 1900 and a New Army and a bunch of other cool shit. Unfortunately, they were priced too high so they never sold, and the owner was a fucking retard so they just sat in a humid display case for years and rusted solid and got all pitted. It was sad

It's a semi-auto closed bolt conversion so I don't really consider it rare. At least the one that belongs to >>65212839 is open bolt and more original.

I might be the only person on this board that owns a deagle brand deagle.
>>
>>65216816
That is absolutely incorrect lmao, this board has Deagles galore, me included, I bet you don’t even have more than 1 caliber conversion for it.
>>
>>65216843
I do not, but I have one of the older barrels with the weaver mount instead of the pickle tickler rail.

spas 12, which is relatively rare, just not here.

Thats a great find! Does it have the rifle sight (the real “Police” model”). Finding it with SF DSF at that price is the icing on the cake. I bought my TAC-14 for $600, and wanted a slightly older one that was marked “Marine Magnum” as opposed to the new ones that omit Marine.

I remember when Remington was shit down and they were going for like $1700, as opposed to before when they were plentiful at $750.
>>
>>65217329
Yup, rifle sights and all. Didn't have a chance to check over the weekend, gonna stop by tomorrow after work for sure and pray it's still there.
>>
>>65217980
Well done! I’d call them and tell them you’re on the way.

Never seen another drilling on /k/ It's not in good shape right now but someday I'm gonna get it into fully working condition. 1927 16ga x 8x58mmr Sauer (maybe, probably) produced in Ferlach, Austria.

A family friend of mine passed away a couple months ago and had one of those 22lr Mausers in his safe. Absolutely beautiful rifle.
>>
>>65206402
What do you think of the Ounce?
>>
>>65215783
Absolutely nothing. Plus the majority of guns we all bought were through FFLs and require a 4473. The government already knows about them.

95% of the time it’s gunless schizos (the bad kind) using it as an excuse not to post guns.

Hey! I also have a fixed sight security six!
As a ruger collector I figured I was one of the only people that knew or cared about that anymore.
The only thing i dont like about the "low back" security six is the grip angle is strange. I guess thats why they changed it.
I dont have a photo yet so please enjoy this abused "flat gate" four digit serial number single six.
Im currently looking for a flat top blackhawk 357 and a buckeye model blackhawk in 10mm

Not rare exactly but not a ton of them out there. Remington Model 8 in .30 Rem. It’s fun.
>>
>>65218591
Luv it, but it's impractical and its intended use of being "easy for a new shooter" is generous at best, it's complicated to operate. Even with my speedloaders its very fiddly. Not to mention it being intended for defense as a .22 LR

I have heard of people sending in threats using other people's gun pics
