Gas mask fetishists have debased any public interest on civil defense and i don't like it when people laugh at me just because i want to have MOPP 4 gear at my home and dig a trench on the beach. Post CBRN and discuss what is the best approach to a potential niggeraids attack. Who is the least mission critical individual in your potential minuteman squad?
I believe it's duct taping every window and outlet/inlet and closing your water valves to seal your home and eat canned beans until all the normies shit themselves to death. I can't sacrifice a Pvt since i don't have any friends so my minuteman squad would be either randos or likely not exist in the first place desu

I was a CBRNE/WMD investigator in my LE days and have some basic PPE…mask and filters, Tyvek, boots, outer gloves, chem tape, screening and decon papers, Atropine injectors and Iodine (in my car). Of cournse it depends on what you’re dealing with, many agents like Anthrax, Ricin, etc. aren’t as easy to be exposed to as you’d think.

My house is pretty airtight for energy efficiency reasons and I've got some plastic painter's drop sheets with my shtf gear that I can duct tape up in the hall to make an improvised airlock. It won't protect me from VX dropped on my door step but I'm pretty confident against most everything else.

You gotta use that to your advantage anon. Get a gimp to run your arends in case of a bio weapons attack. Its fully enclosing latex suit will protect it when it fetches you food.

From a true CBRN perspective, if the issue comes up you are legitimately already fucked. Proper chemical weapons will either get through anything you can lay hands on, or will fuck you once you need to take the suit off unless you can get somebody to properly decontaminate you first. A gas mask on its own isn't going to do shit.
Now what a gas mask CAN do is smaller tasks like filtering smoke from wildfires, tear gas or smell from cleaning up decomp. Maybe some of the larger fallout particles from a nuke strike happening somewhere else, but even that's an unlikely scenario. Those smaller jobs don't require the same level of protection that proper CBRN equipment does so almost any half decent mask/filter can handle it. The odds that some rioting hood rats manage to get their mitts on sarin are not very likely, and you probably won't have the knowledge/time/opportunity to get unto a full protective suit in the extremely unlikely situation that it does. Those suits are more for somebody going into a contaminated space like that to clean it up after it gets fucked, which you probably aren't going to want to do unless that's your job in which case you wouldn't be sourcing it yourself.

Yeah but the food will be contaminated which defeats the point.
Basically if something that big happens sit tight, seal everything up the best you can and hope you are far enough away from the epicenter to survive long enough to be rescued.
The only other scenario I can think of is some gas/chemical release from an industrial accident where you have to evacuate and a gas mask might be better than nothing but it really depends what is being released and if you are down wind from it.
