>smoothbore muzzle loader
>load first with a ball cast from reliquary silver
>then load a stout rod of rowan wood, preferably harvested from one growing on another tree as an epiphyte (those supposedly have a stronger apotropaic effect)
I'd hope that would suffice

What kind of antisocial, treehugger bullshit it this? Just call Buffy.

Ask her for a 'handjob' because I'm 'horny' and vibe check if she's cool about it. If so, she's the one getting a gun in her trunk.

I would make the sign of the cross, say the Jesus prayer, ask for protection from the Holy Theotokos, and invoke the aid of St. Michael the Archangel. At that point I just watch that thing scream and convulse then teleport away.

No, hot lead at 2000fps is sufficient for all manner of cryptids, fae, mutants etc.
Why do you think people see these shits so much less than they used to? They've all been fucking blasted. What you fail to understand is the inscriptions on the cartridge, the explosion of the powder, the spin of the heavy metal as it flies through the air, these too are forms of occult power with supernatural effects.

No. Silver is softer than steel, it won't damage the barrel.
But it's not a very good material for making bullets.
It's also pointless because the whole silver bullet thing was literally just invented by Hollywood in the 1941 for the horror movie The Wolf Man.
There's no historical folklore supporting the claim that silver is effective against supernatural creatures.
On the contrary, old European folklore is very clear that iron and steel harms magical creatures while silver, gold, and other precious metals don't harm them.
The only two historical references I've seen to silver bullets were the Catholic church in 17th century Germany making and shooting blessed silver bullets out of rifled guns to "prove" that rifling was the work of the devil.
The other being obscure local Swedish folklore which asserted that the amount of "death" in a firearm was some kind of objective and measurable property, that could be increased by black magic and heresy.
For example using communion bread as wadding, casting bullets out of stolen church silver, smearing the gun with the blood of "evil" creatures (snakes, bats, black cats, etc), mixing the burnt and powdered bones of such creatures with the gunpowder, or just keeping parts of such creatures in the patch box.
Murderers and "self-murderers" also supposedly boosted with lethal properties of firearms dramatically. Their body parts could be used similarly.
Even hiding the gun under a bridge where a funeral procession for a murderer or self-murderer passed, or burying the gun in their grave overnight, would put more death into the gun.
All of this would make the gun deadlier against regular mortal creatures, the folklore made zero mentions of shooting supernatural creatures.

Well, shit.
Honestly it was one of those crappy historical weapons shows that ran on Discovery or the Hitler-channel back in the late 90s or early 00s.
You know the kind of TV show I'm talking about, right? Usually featuring this guy and a fat bald guy as "experts".
Well, those shows weren't always 100% historically accurate and correct, and it seems they might have just made it up for the drama or something.
I tried to find some better sources and found fuck-all.

It's honestly insane how Hitler basically had an entire channel dedicated to his ideals and attempt at European conquest for basically a decade.
How did they get away with it? Did they really think it would just hype nationalism for the war in Iraq and end there? Basically every millennial got blasted with Hitler propaganda every day for their most formative years.

Based 17th century vidya logic.

Bizarrely, vestiges of this folklore survived well into the modern era, which I didn't expect considering how coldly logical and non-superstitious most Swedes are.
Supposedly, droves of old fudds traded in their grandfathers' trusty old side-by-side shotguns back in the 60s and 70s because "there was no longer any death" in the guns".
The real reason for why everything they shot at just ran/flew away was that ammo manufacturers in Sweden had switched to using US/english shot size numbers and the fudds were using the wrong size shot without realizing it.

Actually silver has no evil banishing properties, the idea is that silver is a lunar metal and thus harms lunar entities more. Its a pagan belief that backwards Christians and (((Hollywood))) coopted. A wooden cross or any cross you can imbue with your faith and reciting the Bible is all you need.
