Mk23 is dumb as hell but it's also the most fun handgun I own. It is the most effortlessly accurate handgun I've ever shot. I love mine.

I got the FNX. Lots of bullets, stupid big but not mk23 sized. Also like $1000 less.

I rent all of these out at the range I work at and we have a mk23 that has had about 70,000 rounds through it. It's broken in, and has had 4 recoil spring replacements. Barrel still looks new, extractor is still factory, it's dirty but we clean them all the time. I can still get MSRP on it if I wanted to sell it, maybe more. People offer to buy it all the time.
FNX 45 tactical is also fine. It won't hold value like a mk23 but who cares, it's accurate and doesn't have a whole lot of recoil. It's set up for a suppressor out of the box and it's only $1200.
The USP is like the Mk23's little brother, honestly it's just as good, people just want that Mark 23 rollmark on the side.

My former boss would pack a MK23 under his pants. It's certainly doable but most of the time he left it in his car. No matter how much you love something or someone at a certain point weight and bulk start to matter.
