I mean I know it has to be due to the lack of gas, but what mechanism in the trigger is reset when the bolt is like reciprocated manually

Brings the hammer back down, allows the rifle to be put on safe and disassembled.

Because the hammer will not recock itself, either the action cycling after firing recocks the hammer, or you'll have to cock it manually.
Since the gun is empty, the hammer drops and stays dropped, and the trigger will do nothing until you recock the hammer.

What's fake about it?
You released a spring, and without it being cocked back by the gun cycling you need to cock it again.
That's how single action triggers work

do you think gasses travelling through a tube is what normally resets a trigger?

This is either a masterful troll or you're legitimately in danger of strangling yourself trying to put on socks. Either way 10/10.
