You will never be a real hawk. You have a human mind, with hawk instincts haphazardly thrown on top. You will never understand how real hawks communicate with each other or how they truly feel, as it is impossible with a human mental capacity.

You are a mentally ill teenage boy who was given superpowers as a young boy by a grossly irresponsible adult. You were not mentally capable of handling those powers and you never should have been given them. The powers destroyed your life so much you had to be given a second chance just so you wouldn’t be a hawk permanently for the rest of your life.

All the support you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Your friends all think you’re insane but are too cowardly to say it to your face. Your girlfriend begs you to just become human again. To experience human social life again. To actually have a future and be able to go to college, and lead a real life. Instead of flying around aimlessly in the woods and eating rats, constantly fighting for survival.

When you die, you won’t get a burial. You’ll just be another dead animal, forgotten among the endless hoards of wild animals no one cares about. People will see your bones and think you were just another mindless, wild bird. A tragic life that will undeniably be seen as a failure by anyone who knew who you were, and what you could’ve been.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
