Young Giff mysterious identity?
>actually Aegon VI himself
>He originally from House Longwater
>Brightflame cadet pretender
>Pertender noble trace from Jaehaerys I daughters who fled narrow sea
>Lost line of Green faction or cadet successors (Jaehaera and her brothers deserve better)
>Illyrio’s wife Serra possibly being a Blackfyre descendant
>minor house opportunist like Baelish and Bronn

It really sucks that we'll probably never see anyone in the books properly explore the more fantastical parts of the world like Asshai or doomed Valyria or Sothoryos. I feel like if George were younger he might have done a follow up episodic novella series of Arya doing shit around the world.

After reading Sworn Sword
As much a prideful idiot Eustace was, I was a bit sad that he never had any more kids and his line likely ended. He was pretty nice to Dunk for the most part.
Can't understand why he let Set Bennis work for him but I guess beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully he had a distant cousin or some shit that could inherit, House Osgrey seemed pretty cool

House Osgrey still exists as of 300AC so Eustace and Rohanne must have had a son who himself had kids.
The odd part is House Webber also still exists, when Eustace and Rohanne's son and his descendants would have inherited the lands and titles.

In the original outline, there was going to be a love triangle between Jon, Arya, and Tyrion. There are still remnants of that more-than-sibling love between them. Jon falls for Ygritte in part because of how she reminds him of Arya. I think Gendry is Arya's parallel of Ygritte. He reminds her of Jon. I could swear there was a scene where she saw Gendry working a forge with rippling muscles and immediately thought of Jon but I can't find it, maybe I confused different scenes together. It's probably healthier that they found those traits they liked in people that weren't each other, but I wouldn't mind if their reunion was a little spicy.

I think he regrets not getting the story to the point it needs to so as to make them actually relevant. The reason why they haven't been seen yet is because we aren't even in the second part of his epic fantasy franchise. They were supposed to be the last phase of the story
>>

GRRM should just abandon his self-imposed limitation of seven books and write as many as he needs. Even in the scenario where the Others are erased completely from the books, it is logistically impossible to address everything in the plot in ~2000 pages.
>>
>>
>>25193780
>>25193788
He's not writing at all. He hasn't been for a very long time. If he just wrote a single page a WEEK he'd've been finished years ago.
Stop coping and enjoy the series as-is.
>>
>>25193788
In one book, you basically have to:
- Write about the shitstorm at the Wall after Jon's death.
- Write about Jon warging Ghost.
- Complete the Battle of Steel.
- Complete the Battle of Fire.
- Complete the Battle of Ice.
- Complete the Battle of Blood.
- Show the direct aftermath and fallout of all these battles.
- Show Tyrion and Victarion dealing with each other and the courtroom drama in Dany's council. This alone could vary wildly in length.
- Show Young Griff establishing himself as a real threat.
- Show Cersei's trial and the shitstorm that ensues when people find out Robert Strong is an undead Gregor.
- Have Jaime and Brienne deal with the Brotherhood Without Banners and Lady Stoneheart, and then maybe a SECOND Red Wedding where they kill a lot of Freys.
- Have Euron fucking shit up with all sorts of magic bullshit.
This isn't even all of the major plots.
All of them must take several chapters to complete.
Some of them could be their own books.

tl;dw there's too many pov characters and Winds will need to be two volumes long if his autism refuses to allow him to split the book into two (like he did for A Game of Thrones and Clash, and like he did for Feast and Dance)

I think this could be true
I think the other two ""ove" prophecies are linked for jon and the child she'll have with him (she alread had children with drogo and daario, following her rule of three it's cleary she'll have a child with jon and the child gonna survive)
>>
>>
>>25194931
>>25195179
How the hell is there going to be time for Jon and Dany to fall in love, have a baby, and for one or both of them to die within two books when they're not even in the same continent right now?
>>
Regarding Feast & Dance, I feel like there's one good book between the two of them. When you resort to a geographic split & timestream link-up, that's a clear sign your story is bursting at its seams. I'm convinced you could slice them down to a single, much more concise book while still telling the story. You could excise the entire POV of that Dornish nerd who got roasted by her dragons, telling his story via mentions by other characters. You could chop down Tyrion on the boat, not the Sorrows/Chroyane, that's good stuff, but other parts you could. And that's just for starters.
More than anything, GRRM needed a team of editors to cut the fat, keep the story progressing and to keep his fat ass motivated. However, this seems to be a case of success creating complacency and yes-men. I don't think it's a coincidence that the first three books are the best, and are spaced 2 years apart, while the long waits and bloat came after.

Ser Eustace 'the Chequy Chad' plowed Rohanne at least once during their wedding, and likely more times before he croaked. Its telling that Rohanne later gave up Coldmoat so she could marry Lord Gerion Lannister shortly after Eustace's death. Mayhaps she had the grandchild with him that her father had always wanted and thus felt comfortable doing so. It is evident with her discussion of her deceased children in TSS and the upbringing of Tywin's father and his other siblings that Lady Rohanne was very much an absentee mother
There is decent odds that House Osgrey lives on, and given that they are Blackfyre loyalists and would be bannermen to Mathis Rowan (who will play a prominent role in TWoW - likely a 'friend in the Reach' of soon-to-be King Aegon VI Blackfyre) we may get to see an Osgrey, especially if GRRM enjoys KOT7K S2 and the Chequy Lion is on his mind
>>25192145
Respect from one Osgrey appreciator to another. House Webber survives through the cadet lineage of Rohanne's cousin (who her father threatened to give Coldmoat to in his will if she did not marry). I'd imagine they hold whichever castle the Webbers originated from before Maegor the Meanie stripped Coldmoat from the Osgreys during the Faith Militant Uprising

They're gonna rape this storyline in the show. Even though S1 was well written, there's no way modern writers can write a conflict between a young un-traditional woman vs an old conservative man without it being one-sided.

so I see. Given the whole emphasis on duality (ice & fire), I tend to see the Five Forts as the Wall of the East. They're ancient and large enough, and are even made of fused black stone, which is related to the fire element (not to be confused with the oily black stone of the water element).
A couple points I forgot to mention: if the fat man insists on seven books, dividing into volumes could've been a workaround.

I'd suggest Rohanne left to marry Gerold Lannister because her son with Eustace was old enough and competent enough to rule on his own.
Not that Gurm will ever write anymore but Id like to know what happened to Rohanne.

Book Rohanne is already a (well written) stronk womyn and Book Eustace is already a curmudgeon, so there's no need to change the nature of the characters and neither interacts with the other until the end and that's just shouting a few insults across the river.
The story in Book 2 is the most straight forward of the three, there's no need to change or add anything for the tv show, other than a flashback to Blackfyre Rebellion v1.0

I don't think he compares himself with Wolfe, but for the past 2 or so years he has ranted about how jealous he is that Wolfe was able to write the entirety of BOTNS before publishing book 1 to tighten up the foreshadowing and write the series holistically rather than publishing 1 book at a time in order to not starve, being stuck with things he wrote in previous books due to his time limits. It all comes back to George telling Diana Gabaldon that he accidentally killed a character off and realized he really needs them in Winds.

Why did Bronn let Falyse go back to King's Landing and not kill her. As long as she's alive, Lollys is not the Stokeworth heir.
In hindsight, letting her go was the better move, since Cersei killed Falyse, but no way Bronn could have predicted Cersei being that retarded

Bronn becomes Lord Stokeworth but that's a title, his name is Ser Bronn of the Blackwater. The rape babby is named Tyrion Tanner but that's probably a joke by Bronn and the kid would legally be named Tyrion Waters. Lollys remains Lollys Stokeworth as he husband doesn't have a last name and with the death of her (childless) sister and brother-in-law, the lands and titles of Stokeworth go her and thus to her husband Bronn. I'd guess at that point he'd take the full name of Bronn Blackwater, Lord of Stokeworth.
>>25199291
Falyse is 36 years old and in ten years of marriage she'd never had a kid but yes, the lands and titles of Stokeworth would have gone to her and thus to the house of her husband, Balman Byrch.

Usually when a husband marries the last female of a house their children take the mother’s name to keep the house alive like when a lydden man married the last Lannister woman and took her name to keep the house alive. Moot point because Qyburn killed her. Cersei explicitly told Qyburn to get rid of her, because Cersei realized Falyse was a bigger risk than Bronn. Bronn is perfectly content with this situation because having Cersei for a boss is preferable to standing alone among established lords.
>>25199540
Similar but not exactly the same. Argilac was the lord and challenged a wounded Orys, expecting to win against an already wounded Orys. Argilac's daughter refused Orys until she was thrown out of her own keep. Orys was an unknighted, landless bastard who seized the lordship by force of arms from the lord and heir that refused any transfer of power. The lack of consent is beaten by might makes right.
Tanda was the lady of the house, but became infirm long enough for Falyse and Balman to get themselves killed for a stupid plot against Bronn. Tanda died without knowing Falyse's fate. The burden is on Cersei for a cover story, but as far as everyone outside the Lannisters and Bronn are concerned, Bronn is the husband and force of arms to the legitimate last heir of Stokeworth. Bronn was already knighted by Tywin's orders before Cersei, the queen-regent, directly arranged the marriage of Bronn to Lollys to satisfy Tanda's request for Lollys' suitor. Cersei then schemed for Bronn's removal that ultimately pushed Bronn forward to the lordship itself. Balman challenged Bronn when Stokeworth was still not yet Balman's property. The lady and regent both consented to and accelerated Bronn's position.
I cannot stress this enough: Orys had the choice of Baratheon by force of arms. Bronn can make a decision about House Stokeworth because he legally was placed into the position.
That said, this plot was actually one of Cersei's better ideas. We may never know what Bronn will do in the final books, but Cersei at least guaranteed that House Stokeworth regains its capacity for war. If I were in Bronn's position, I'd legitimize Tyrion Tanner as his own cadet house knight, produce a true Stokeworth heir, then float the Blackwater name as either a style or another cadet branch.

The point of the Blackfyre subplot is to illustrate Varys's philosophy: 'Power resides where men believe it resides.'
Varys tells JonCon that Young Griff is Aegon.
Varys tells the Golden Company that Young Griff is a Blackfyre.
By telling multiple (contradictory) lies, Varys is able to build up Young Griff as an important figure despite him probably being a nobody (a lower class Lyseni, just like Varys himself)
Young Griff is the "Mummers' Dragon" for a reason. He's a fraud who has multiple fake identities

>irrelevant minor house like the Stokeworth's
It's like 5% of the Crownlands, larger than most other lordships in the Crownlands. Cersei was trying to gain control over it just like with Rosby, itself half as large as Stokeworth but still rich. The Crownlands is roughly the same land area as Great Britain.
When Gyles Rosby died, 6 claimants petition for his estate. Cersei (stupidly) tries to overrule the claimants to herself be the recipient of Rosby. One of the claimants is Tanda Stokeworth who also died and left Lollys the claim, meaning Bronn could challenge the competition to more than double the land he just married into. If Cersei was smart, she'd delay the inheritance of Rosby long enough to dangle it as a reward to Bronn if he executes another one of her schemes.
>>25200915
He is Bronn of the Blackwater, not Bronn Blackwater. He managed to acquire knighthood, but he chose a name to celebrate his accomplishment in battle. The battle is named for the river, Blackwater. Were he to decide the name Blackwater as the house name in place of Stokeworth, it would be confusing to refer to such a lordship by the river when the lordship fails to have any physical contact with the very river it is named after. Furthermore, King Tommen (aka Cersei) would have to approve Blackwater as the new house name.
Cersei and the stability of House Lannister is in jeopardy, so Bronn may have to play it safe by taking the name Stokeworth to better grasp Rosby. Were he to acquire Rosby and Byrch, he'd have just over 1/10 of the Crownlands. If Jon and fAegon succeed in taking King's Landing, they'll be very interested in winning Bronn to their side.

I dipped into the previous thread, and I had to respond to a few things. For one, I was in an irl discussion where a girl said that Arya was "literally me". Granted, her being a competent assassin as a kid is a stretch, but otherwise I take that as confirmation that her characterization is believable.
Also, Sansa is not dumb, despite her blunder early on. There's alot of hints in the text that she's highly intelligent, which is not contradicted by a lapse in judgment when she was a naive 12 year old.
Maybe GRRM really should've stuck with the 5 year time skip, maybe then he wouldn't be becalmed in the doldrums.

havent read it, but that's consistent with what I've gathered.
>>25202838
I have multiple examples from the text.
1. In ACOK, Sansa II/Chapter 18, she gets the note to come to the godswood, and burns it to cover her tracks. On her way back, she bumps into the Hound, who questions her, and she says she was praying in the godswood for her father and for King Joffrey. The Hound dismisses the claim that she was praying for a sociopathic maniac, but doesn't question the alibi any further.
So here, we have proper OPSEC, and a very clever deflection -- praying for Joffrey was an obvious lie, and it threw the Hound off the scent of the real reason she went there (the conspiracy with Dontos).
2. ASOS, Chapter 68, Sansa VI. Lysa is asking her why she's still a virgin after marrying the Imp. The truth is that Tyrion, under his many layers of irony & cynicism, has a core of decency, which is why he refused to commit marital rape (which many other characters would've done). But Sansa can't tell this to Lysa without offending her, so she deflects to his whoremongering, a known vice of his.
Once again, a very clever deflection in a sticky situation.
3. AFfC, Chapter 23, Alayne I. This is where Littlefinger has his parley with the Lords Declarant, who oppose his rule. The discussion seems to be at an impasse, until Lyn Corbray draws his sword, which violates guest right, and leads to a compromise wherein Littlefinger stays in power. Of course, Lyn Corbray is in Littlefinger's service, and is paid to subvert any opposition. But in the discussion afterwards, Sansa deduces all this straight away without needing any explanation!
So in these examples, we have Sansa doing proper OPSEC, successfully lying & deflecting under pressure on multiple occasions, and instantly grasping one of Littlefinger's schemes, who is one of the best players in the game.
Yes, if you read closely, she is bright, despite her blunder as a 12-year-old getting groomed by Cersei, and despite what other characters say.

btw, that fan-made map I put up has a good aesthetic, but there's some definite errors in it. I tried to run it through AI, but it kept hallucinating things. I guess some things you still have to do by hand.
>>25204934
Typical of wokefaggotry to have girlbosses. In the books you have to read between the lines to see how intelligent she really is. And I hope anon wasn't referring to me, I'm not a girl yo, wtf
>>
>I wonder if Tywin fucked Shae just to dunk on Tyrion
I thought so at first but I really don't think it fits his character that well. I think he's really making sure she's a simple whore and not too affected by tyrion's trial. If it was clear she was distraught and in love with tyrion then maybe he would have her killed or exiled or something.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>25205683
I guess that makes sense.
>killed or exiled or something
by "something", I assume you mean gang rape, lol. That's what happened to Tysha, Tyrions waifu, and he was forced to watch and participate. ppl joke about "where do the whores go", but in case anyone was genuinely wondering, it's about Tyrion dwelling on how traumatic that incident was, and how his father doesn't give a fuck about the life-altering trauma he inflicted.
>>25205700
good to know; always important to read to the end.
>>
>>
>>25205707
Well Tysha was meant to be a lesson to Tyrion. I imagine that consequences to Shae would have come after Tyrion was gone, either to the wall or dead, since his trial was being hurried along. I think it was more about "How close did these two get? Does she have dirt on us? Does she have reason to harm us? Was she a plant in the first place?"
>>
>>25205714
That’s so interesting. See I though it was simple characterization, GRRM hammering home that Tyrion is really Tywin’s son (not in the other parentage sense, but in the way aunt Gemma (?) says it to Jaime), so when he saw Shae he was both struck (because he has the same “type” as Tyrion would) and just to cuck Tyrion out of something because he hates him.
>>
>>25205721
>>25205714
And also to show that Tywin enjoys whores, he’s just a full of shit hypocrite
>>
>>25205714
I get the point he was making, in characteristically ruthless fashion (nobility should not get with peasants). It's just that years later, Tyrion is still depressed and can't get over it, and his father not caring was the icing on the cake.
But yea, that is interesting. Although I assume that the offer of the Wall was a bluff to avoid being assassinated, but I guess you can't be certain.
>>25205723
that too
>>
>>25205730
>I assume that the offer of the Wall was a bluff to avoid being assassinated
The thing is, Tywin could have had him killed whenever. Maybe tarnishing Tyrion's name makes killing him a better option, but I don't think he would have trouble finding a way to get rid of him without it being controversial earlier. I think he really did want to find a use for him and also not see him in his castles ever again. Lord Commander Mormont was dead before Tyrion's trial was over, the wall had already sent word to all of the kings that they needed help with wildlings. Tywin acted nonchalant about it, and decided to hint that he wanted Slynt elected, but we know Tywin has plenty of foresight. Say a king did go and help the night's watch, and was met by a Commander with northern sympathies, and in doing so gained a foothold in the north, that might be an issue for the Lannisters. I think he did resolve to send Tyrion to the wall. It would solve all of his problems. Get the imp out of his vicinity, get a more useful pawn on the wall, leave Jaime as his only legal heir so he could guilt trip him into leaving the kingsguard without gaining his resentment by killing his brother, and sate Cersei's vengeance somewhat.
>>
>>25205751
Also, if I remember correctly, Tywin sent Kevan to tell Tyrion to confess and he would let him take the black long before the trial even concluded, so it can't have just been a last minute offer out of fear.

There's just absolutely no reason for George not to blog about it if it's done or if writing is going well. He LIKES to let people know when he's writing and it's coming along. Just look at every blog post between Feast and Dance. I don't think age would change his habits that much. Winds stresses the fuck out of him, more than anything in his life yet.
I also don't think Elio would be doing interviews if Winds was done, because 90% of those interviews are shit about George not being able to finish Winds, and Elio will be the first person to know when it's done.

My theory is that the final winner of the Game of Thrones will be, deservingly, Littlefinger.
He is the best player so far, coming from a low ranking noble to the lord paramount of the Riverlands. He plays the game when there are Others, gods, wizards, Blackfyres, Targaryens, wargs, washed leaders of Robert's rebellion, and other aberrations around him. And he defeats them all.

I mean, Dany still being in Essos, plot not moving that much, The Others/Euron the final enemies, important questions and mysteries not being addressed until Dream… we’ve all been fooling ourself that Winds would answered most of the mysteries and Dream would come soon after… while in fact Dream is an even bigger piece that Winds and we’ll never get it.

She clearly believes in her god, and her divination is tapping into something real. The blood magic is questionable. Whether she's ultimately good or bad depends on whether R'hllor is real or if she just has a cobbled together set of spells and believes those spells get their power from him. There's no reason to think a glamor spell could only be performed by a R'hllor worshiper, we know there are means of divination other than by the fire (but she attributes dreams and visions to "the great other"), we know that wights can be made by other means. I think the most compelling reason to think R'hllor is real is that Thoros' method of resurrection is literally just praying to him and breathing into someone's mouth, and even then it's hit or miss, so it does seem like there is some other will making a judgement there. It could literally just be some super powerful wizard watching him with a glass candle and then deciding it would be cool if he did an ancient wight spell though.
