1. Assuming metaphysical solipsism is true
2. Everyone then thinks he is the only mind
3. There are 8 billion people on the planet
Which one of them is right then? It can only be one

Nah God told me this isn't true
>>25205145
This argument implicitly assumes solipsism isn't true.

Whats the ontology you're basing this on?
Some type of subjective idealism where other people cease to exist when not in view?
Or it's like the modern atheist materialist view of atoms and forces and yet only your brain is the one making this "extra" thing called consciousness? Like some kind of descarte dualism? It would have to be right, because your bodies and other bodies are materially the same, no? But you're the only body that can feel. So there's an extra.. substance within you that allows for feeling? This all seems kinda dumb so it must me the subjective idealism type ontology?
But that one seems dumb to me as well, as if the world just spontaneously pops in and out of being everytime you sleep
So I don't really know. Based on your op you might have just took drugs and got freaked out paranoid that the people who were laughing at your jokes didn't actually find you funny BECAUSE THEY COULDNT EVEN IF THEY TRIED AHHHHH

NTA but i think if you practice subjective idealism, you eventually reach Solipsisim because they both point to the same thing, which is Non Duality. Not sure what's an "ontology" but i follow from direct observations:
Any two things need to have a common reference field in order to be two. Try it with any two objects you can see right now and try to disprove this. The two objects need the surface they're on. If you remove that, they need the room they're in, the house, the planet, the universe. Eventually you get to the final two things, time and space. What's the reference field they have in common in order to be presented as two? It must be something infinite and indivisible, present at any time space coordinates. If it wasn't infinite and indivisible, it wouldn't be the final reference field any two things have in common, another bigger one would need to be "behind" it. That final field is presence or existence itself. Meaning that if you are present right now, you are all of Presence, God, whatever you want to call it that never reduces or becomes "less than". You just pretend you do. The ocean pretends it becomes the waves, but each wave is actually the ocean.
What Solipsism does (not meme solipsisim, but the actual thing) is that it goes straight to the only thing that's for sure absolute, which is consciousness. Consciousness is the only persistent thing across all experience, present and potential, and whatever happening, could happen, is that everlasting thing always experiencing something, that comes even before Solipsisim even, before thought, before everything, is the actual first cause and what you actually are. There being an internal" and external world are mental fabrications...they are either a thought or a belief in your mind. Just as a dream at night where you forget that you're dreaming in the first place and come across things without seeming control despite being all in your head, it's still all your imagination, just like waking life. Our experiences are actually all mutually exclusive and self contained in private copies of the world, unless we imagine them to be co-created and strictly tight, which is realized, then "manifested" to be true. Solipsism in this case would be to become aware of the dream that is the waking world, and just become lucid in it, that's it, if you decide to do so, only (You) will experience the outcome, just like people experience NDE and OBE all by themselves, which is how also all psychic and supernatural phenomena works.

Solipsism implies responsability because nobody can really "push you" into it, that defeats the point (Who is "pushing it" if is all you? If you could ignore other ideas, why is this one any different?). Solipsism directly address that no idea have effect without passing trough you first and being fully accepted as true by yourself alone, and is your conclusion that is altering your perception of reality and overall experience in it.
>soul-harvesting matrix
You could be inside of the matrix, in a dream within a dream within a dream, inside another dream, inside a lab where your brain is in a vat, inside another dream, high on 10 psychedelics, DMT, shrooms, LSD combined, you could be being hypnotized, controlled by aliens, inside virtual reality, and none of it matters in comparison to the raw consciousness you are. Consciousness is the only persistent thing across all of these. It is the ultimate, irrefutable, invincible truth. Go and ask /sci/ or any philosopher and they can do absolutely NOTHING about it. Everything that exists is encapsulated within consciousness, which is equivalent to ones own existence, because this One-Thing is the container of existence itself.
In a way, everything beyond consciousness is an illussion, and to be sure of everything beyond my direct experience, what im aware of at the moment and what's coming from my mind, is all a matter of faith. Also language perhaps, as words themselves, adopted ideas and conceptualizations, alter your very perception of reality (even reading to what I have typed has altered your perspective and how you see reality, it made you contemplate things so far in a broader sense). Faith is a requirement to function in this world. Faith that something exists outside of ones own consciousness, faith that your memories are trustworthy, that human history is trust worthy, that people are trust worthy, that your 5 senses are trustworthy. This is what scientists, philosophers and rationalists must submit too (which is hypocritical considering they deny God but demand proof). All scientists, mathematicians, linguists or philosophers build their arguments foundationally upon axioms or tautologies, which are based on assumptions that they're not dreaming, that their memories are trust worthy, etc

Solipsism can only be true for me.
I am not a Solipsist.
Therefore, all Solipsists are wrong.
>>
>>25206179
Which can only happens if you decide, so you experience "Solipsists being wrong" (which, conversely, could perfectly happen inside the Solipsistic framework due to only your own held conclusions dictating your experience). Experience is entirely subjective really, there's nothing happening if you are not aware of it (the moment you think there is, you already became aware of that).
>>
Solipsism can't be refuted but that doesn't mean it's true, rookie mistake I also made when I started with philosophy. I spent a fair amount of time trying to refute it because I thought that not doing that implied a good case for solipsism, which is not true.

> Who and what to read on this?
Adi Shankara (pic related) and the following short verse texts
https://realization.org/p/ashtavakra-gita/richards.ashtavakra-gita/ric hards.ashtavakra-gita.html

There are also Hindu Tantrics (Abhinavagupta, Jnanadeva), Tantric Buddhists (Longchenpa), and Ch’an Buddhists (Bodhidharma, Zongmi, Chinul) who teach something highly similar in practice but with different philosophical commitments, although Adi Shankara’s Advaita Vedanta is normally considered the classic paradigmatic example of eastern non-dualism.

Is the same thing, same conclusion, as both recognize the underlying presence behind the experience as the only thing that's true, being whatever is happening inside of it only relatively true and temporary, coming from that singular presence altogether. Any form of oneness, either Solipsism or Nonduality, reduce reality to one singular experience. You are all just projections of my consciousness operating under my beliefs, intentions and expectations and yet you are still sentient sovereign beings with full rich lives no less or more important than me with the same exact power. As from your perspective I am a projection of yours. We are all fragments of god and thus in the same way that the acorn contains within it the oak tree each part of the whole contains the whole as its division is illusory and impossible. There is only one of us. Solipsism is effectively true and yet the truest truth transcends and yet includes it. The truest truth is an ineffable and indescribable paradox.

Solipsism is kind of true. Actual Truth cannot be expressed or even understood, but it can be experienced. Where people go wrong with solipsism is assuming they themselves are real. No others means no self.
