If I was rich, why would I need to work and save? If you live cheap it is easy to save up enough to live on for a few years; rent cheap room, work as much as possible, go live life. I don't understand the obsession with retirement, spend 40 years working so you can enjoy your "golden years" but are too old to do much of anything? I would much rather enjoy life while I am young and work when I am old. If I ever own a house again it will be one I build and likely on that property I have free use of for life but maybe I will buy a chunk of property in the middle of nowhere again. If I really wanted to buy a house it would only take a few years of working hard, living cheap and saving.
