Lies and larps less. Marx really only pretended to know one subject whereas Evola pretended to know about many. And Marx certainly knew more about his one topic (economics) than Evola knew about religion, or any of the other topics he wrote about. He's a far bigger pseud.

Or worse, that you have read him and ignore his reasoning around lines like this where he explains his thought. It's literally plebbit tier ree fascist level stuff.
That said the existence of India suggests he's entirely correct in thinking of some as qualitatively better than others. Which is ironic with his love of India and its religions.

The whole point of Tradition is that the better breed of men will naturally rule in better times, but as the world degenerates the lesser lot will gain power. He's not trying to advocate for some model of government, merely saying that things were better and are now worse. So if you actually wanted to refute Evola you would've made a post trying to prove those earlier times were worse. Instead you've simply made yourself look ignorant and dim-witted.

You're being disingenuous to begin with so I'm retarded for replying, but that statement is completely true. A person's internal reality is almost entirely ineffable and inexpressible.
>>25301886
The difference between a person with 130 IQ and 150 IQ is impossible for a 130 IQ person to fully understand, and both of those people might as well be considered a different species than 100 IQ people, and likewise between 100 and 80 IQ people. 135 is the 99th percentile. If you have an IQ of 130 and aren't in a particular kind of social milieu (rarefied i.e. uncommon) that sorts for high intelligence, you are likely the smartest person in the room everywhere you go for weeks or months at a time. For people with 150 IQ, it's years at a time. Statistically, if there are 7B humans on Earth, there are at least 100 million of these people floating around in the world. It is not unrealistic in the slightest to say that some people are cattle and some people are actual ensouled high quality people

I understand what you are saying, and you might be right that he would insist on making such a point, but I use IQ as shorthand for the hierarchy of overall depth of internal experience and cognitive capacity, not the actual test score. It's obvious that people who speak colloquially about IQ are referring to the underlying trait G (ineffable) to people who have spent time with the intelligence literature. The fact is that there might be a number of instances in the history of humanity where an 80 IQ nigger is of the same spiritual type a particular 150 IQ individual, but this would be an absurdly tiny minority of cases and more remarkable as an exception to the rule. And it goes without saying that the hierarchy of people is not 1:1 with the intelligence hierarchy, I was mentioning intelligence as an obvious, observable example of differences between people so that we have something to talk about. The fact that we can't talk about inexpressible existential (soul-level) differences between people doesn't mean they don't exist

He has the entire front half of Revolt explaining to you exactly how spiritual virility is conferred to the initiates. He explains over and over again how the material evidence for power is insufficient at explaining what makes a Monarch a Monarch, and he gives good examples too. Just because he takes cultural explanations for these concepts more seriously and tries to find syncretic elements rather than hand waving it away doesn't make him some hopeless chud. If you want a book of his to complain about it's Pagan Imperialism btw.

the most important people on earth aren't high IQ hyper achievers. High IQ people become wagies working for the real powerful. Geniuses are the kings of the technician wagie class. The politicians, leaders, billionaires, captains of industry are above average at most. Most successful entrepreneurs I've ever met are straight up morons. This is proven by data. I don't know why you IQ determinists keep harping on about muh superiority when in fact it is a far more mysterious quality that makes people extraordinary. I never read evola but pagangooners always have this obsession with a mystical special class of people. I'm sure there are plenty of Indians full of thumos in the slums of bangladesh but it profits them nothing. In my opinion civilizational success is achieved by a culture with particular features rather than esoteric snow nigga magick. Rome was great because of an obsessively proud and patriotic culture not because it had a unusually high concentration of "superior" people. This is indian level caste shit.
>>

The Romans were descende from a hyper-utilitarian nation with a mildly non-utilitarian, artistic elite that got pushed out of the country during the liberation of Rome. They also had inherited a special quality from the Etruscans:
"The Etruscans professed an entirely unlimited respect for the person of chiefs and magistrates (1).
It is a common notion among servile nations and demagogues to consider the magistrate as a mere custodian of authority who, from the day he is thrown from his office, whether by regular termination or violent depossession, is no more respectable than the lowliest of men, and has no more right to deference. From this sentiment arise the oriental proverb, which grants everything to the living sultan, nothing to the dead sultan, and also that axiom, dear to modern revolutionaries, by virtue of which one claims to honor the magistrate by heaping noisy insults and open outrages upon him.
The Etruscan notion, quite different, would have severely repressed in Aristophanes the attacks against Cleon, head of state, or against Lamachus, the army general. It considered the very person of the representative of the law so sacred that the august character of public office could not be separated from it, could not be detached from it. I emphasize this point because this veneration was the source of the virtue that was later, and rightly so, admired in the Romans.
In this system, it is accepted that power is, in itself, so beneficial and so venerable that it imposes a kind of indelible character on the one who exercises or has exercised it. It is not believed that the agent of sovereign power ever becomes the equal of the common people again. Because he has participated in the government of the people, he remains forever above them. To recognize such a principle is to place the State in a sphere of eternal admiration, to give an incomparable reward to the services rendered to it, and to offer the example to the noblest emulations."
It would be interesting to know how much the modern Western governments have shifted away or towards this principle during the social changes of the last few decades.

I explained upthread that I am using IQ as a simple, discussable proxy for general intelligence, and intelligence as one among many examples of differences between people. If people vary widely in simple ability to perceive and understand reality (depth of experience) and the perception of some people is 2x, 3x, 5x more lucid than other people, then it is obvious which people are "better" than others. Your aesthetic hierarchy is pragmatic i.e. valuing a person based on what they produce, which is the opposite of what I was talking about. You niggers are all the same to me
>>

>. If people vary widely in simple ability to perceive and understand reality (depth of experience) and the perception of some people is 2x, 3x, 5x more lucid than other people, then it is obvious which people are "better" than others.
The conclusion does not follow from the premise. The former is just a neutral valueless facet of existence. The latter is a post hoc value judgement which rests on your own subjective baised projected on the term "better".
For someone who represents the "betters" you do make shit arguments

Gobineau mindset always wins.
"These were men of turbulent passions; their extreme greed and love of luxury readily led them to resort to arms. They possessed a quick and easy understanding, a naturally keen mind, an insatiable curiosity, great weakness in the face of adversity, and, to top it all off, a formidable fickleness of temper, the result of an organic inability to respect or love anything for long (2).
We find here that severely feudal organization and the incomplete power of an elected leader practiced among the early Hindus, the Iranians, the Homeric Greeks, and the Chinese of the most ancient period. The inconsistency of authority and the warrior's touchy pride often paralyze the actions of the law's representative. In the government of the Ghuls, as in that of other peoples descended from the same stock, there were no vestiges of that senseless despotism of a table of bronze or stone, strong in the abstraction it represented, an aberration so familiar to Semitic republics. The law was rather fluid, poorly respected; the prerogative of the chiefs uncertain.
Alongside the political system naturally stood the military system. The Ghuls did not fight haphazardly. Their armies, like those of the Aryan-Hindus, were composed of four elements: infantry (1), cavalry, war chariots (2), and war dogs, which took the place of elephants (3)."

the traditionalist thesis is simply not explicable to those who don't respect teachers. respect for teachers is hard to prove when reading a text. one way an author can test for this is repetitions, self contradictions, alternations between elaboration of the simple and brevity when dealing with the complex, and vice versa, etc. in a word, esotericism not as a thematic or mystical content but as a writerly practice of sorting for other traditionalists among the readership. sadly for evola however the christians and the pagans alike completely abandoned this dimension of their respective cultures, leaving it to others in europe to kindle the flame on their own.

I have met some extremely intelligent people in academia including a few Nobel prize winners and a recurring feature is a general sense of humility: they might acknowledge they are outstanding in their field of expertise but are open to many people around them being smarter in other domains. This is often also key to both properly communicating your insights and in finding good partners to collaborate with in your research. This is also why i said truly intelligent people know to surround themselves with other intelligent people. If you spend most of your time in circles where everyone is talented you never really feel like you are some special magus ubermensch snowflake.
So yea the belief that there is some kind of stat or inate feature that makes you objectively 'smarter' than other people is kinda meaningless in practice and those that hold it generally come off as deeply anti-charismatic, counter productive, and small minded.

It really just boils down to everyone thinking they are super secret and special all along. Suddenly everyone is a fucking pneumatic these days fighting the hypothetical cattle hordes because they feel good over how special this type of dynamic makes them feel. Chuds do it, leftists do it, teenage girls do it, everyone does it to some degree. It's impossible to truly measure someone else's capabilities off just a slight superficial glance and this type of ideology always attracts an overly self proud type who's at most moderatly above average overestimating how much they truly are. This is not to say that hierarchies are not real and unexistant but just that things are far more nuanced than the existence of a certain group of super powered individuals graced by Sophia who see through everyone's lies braving through it all and that this style of thought usually only attracts manic jackasses. Heidegger doesnt adress this specifically but the way he views the states of Dasein without a direct hierarchy is, in my humble opinion, the best way to look at things

A living and a dead person are physically identical in many peaceful deaths. The spirit moves matter but is linked and tethered to it in a complicated manner.
In a materialistic perspective, some aspect of the body should produce consciousness; perhaps the unique structures of an individual's DNA itself produces a unique consciousness which simply uses the tools of the body, including the nervous system.
Or perhaps the body itself is merely like a consciousness radio, but more intricate and has its signals read by the same source it receives the consciousness from.
The midwits of our world believe that hitting somebody in the head with a club disproves soul. However, hitting a radio won't kill the broadcast.

>How do you know youre so smart Chud?
>How do you know youre better than us?
Im better because I didnt support this globalist horseshit psyop unlike 80% of the world, let alone let myself be injected with untested mRNA gene therapeutics. Thats all proof needed. Before the scamdemic i was more humble even tho i still felt superior, after the scamdemic theres no doubt in my mind about my superiority. Theres a world before the scamdemic, and one after. Not only did people follow along, they were actively, systematically disciminating against the ones who were opposing the lunacy. The cattle was given a reason to act morraly deplorable and feel morally superior about it -- a justification to live out their sadistic desires without any guilt. What a pleasure! They threw all their "values" and "virtues" such as individual freedom and rights out the window for collectivism and all it took was a half assed psyop and a shitty argumentative structure being repeated on tv 24/7. Anyone with an IQ above 85 could have seen through it from the get go. ironically the smarter you were and the higher your status in society -- intellectuals, scientists, judges, politicians, teachers, media personalities etc. --, the more likely you were to play along, because you feared for your position and status and you wouldnt bite the hand that feeds you. Smart niggas had the cognitive capacity to oppose what was going, instead they resorted to rationalizing the ridiculous policies and defend the despots because it was easier for them. Intelligence and virtue are not the same thing. These people are cowards, they are slaves to their biology and animal impulses. Most people are nothing but cattle, no matter how much money they got, what job they hold or how smart they are. Man is a social herd animal first and foremost and hes mostly driven by hist opportunistic, impulsive, emotional animal desires (fucking, money, food, status) but not by his "principles" or "values". I could rant all day if i wanted to but essentially im just saying if you played along you cant be considered fully human let alone on the same spiritual level as me. Theres something that you lack in spirit that God, the universe or sheer randomness equipped me with which you lack.

I do not use a computer (each GPU is chipped and tracked by the global elite, each bit is send to a server in Israel where it is carved on an emerald tablet in the catacombs below Jerusalem) i flip bits in servers using cosmic rays i control with my mind to post on forums that are poorly enough encrypted (4chan), after which i erase its existence from this timeline. I oppose the lunacy of the anti-vaxxers, which was spread amongst the cattle to prevent ascension onto a higher plane. Curiously it seems that mostly blacks avoided the vaxx, and a notable 20% of whites. Asiatics and Hispanics lapped it up.
Netanyahu saw his eschatology working and framed the covid vaxx syringe in his office and started slaughtering Palestinians.

The man is not a Christian and has a negative personal opinion of it, though it doesn't bleed into his works. His dislike of them in those works, specifically Catholics, is grounded in how they differ from his Traditionalist thought.
Also, 'no soul' is not entirely correct. I would recommend reading Revolt if you are interested in his thoughts on souls and the churches. It is scattered in a lot of them but you'll find a reasonable overview in those.

>Curiously it seems that mostly blacks avoided the vaxx,
its a low iq high iq bell curve thing. blacks deeply distrust establishment institutions/whitey for obvious reasons. high iq had too much to lose so they caved and rationalized it away. low iqs had much less to lose and they didnt give a shit about their "professional reputation". culturall, from my experience spics view doctors as gods for whatever reason and do whatever theyre told. chinks are bugs in general, we know that. also many "truthers", cluster b personality types and 4chud types rejected the vax out of pure contrarianism, not thoughtful evaluation, let alone virtue.

>>25319206 (the guy you are responding to)
Read revolt several years ago, I just vaguely remember something about racial totems that suck up the non initiated and then reincarnate them into their own ethnic group. And initiation means not getting sucked into that totem.

Sort of, yes. He's also got his three races, races of body, soul and spirit. Spirit gets a bit funky. Two kinds of soul. The superior kind is an other worldly force that must be drawn into you through ascesis and initiation or certain actions, like specific varieties of heroism and heroic deaths. It's not even that hard, apparently. These are created during life or very occasionally descend into the mortal world to live as kings. The 'normal' kind are splinters from the 'totem', a sort of racial mind spirit that can develop into an independent soul.
His idea is that if you lead a life wherein through either living according to your station/caste/whatever or 'realise the self', through initiation/ascesis, you go on to experience a oneness with something roughly analogous to 'God' in a sort of.. hyper realm, vaguely but not really platonic, as a free and initiated soul. If you screw it up, deviating from the path your soul chose you're absorbed back into the totem/oversoul/racial soul/racial mind spirit. Sort of like how some hell variations in myth saw you slowly absorbed in it as your individuality slips away, as, say, a mining slave of hades. Parts of you will be spun out and reincarnated but never 'you', until your race or stock dies and the temple in the river ossifies and never again enters the world.
So you do have a soul, it's just going back unless you are an initiate or live according to your station in life. Or are a communist.

NTA, and I have no real stock in this argument about Evola. But I do have a counter-argument towards this in particular. This is true in theory, but historical record, especially the assertions of Suetonius which is filled to the brim with slander towards heads of states/emperors kinda disproves this notion.
These principles existed in theory, and perhaps were certainly respected by members of the lower class to a degree, but that's the case in the modern world too. Almost all of the "revolutionaries" shittalking and scandalizing tend to be middle class or higher and tend to do it towards others within their class or higher.
Not to mention, history shows that whenever these societies have those principles applied onto them, it will always be followed by a cycle of a loss of faith towards authority which then leads to a collapse and then a renewal. History is cyclical, not literally where events repeat, but there are patterns.

As for temples, he calls an individual race or totem as a metaphor. Race isn't just a biological aggregate for him in the spiritual sense. Race as riverbed rather than water, not stones but over all form of the temple. That the collective identity in the over world has an inheritance of those members in the material world and changes even as they do and time goes on. With the extinction of a race, the organising principle and form is gone and while parts might remain the 'temple' ruin sinks, the waters flow out, and become part of the riverbed of the over all human race.
Spirit and soul are a bit weird and it's been a bit. Frankly I don't fully understand it. I enjoy Evola because he is genuine and authentic in his beliefs rather than because I subscribe to them.

My problem with Evola and to an extended Traditionalism is how they conduct their "research." If every major religion came from the same source, you'd have to use the most recent revelation as a measuring stick on what is right and wrong. Due to the natural (informational) decay that happens with religious texts. But it seems to me, that Evola and most people who followed traditionalism mostly just wanted to feel superior by using vague metaphors and implications of occult secrets. As well a lot of the authors surrounding Traditionalist thought are extremely bizzare and sinister. I think the biggest impact Traditionalism will have is making a bunch of people extremely susceptible to getting brainwashed by cults.

>As well a lot of the authors surrounding Traditionalist thought are extremely bizzare and sinister.
Bizarre I get, but sinister?
The Prussian line of thought is sinister (everything is war) but it's because of its relationship with the French revolution, and as such is progressive at its core.

It's mostly just their connections and actions/statements.
Evola practiced magic, yet when you compare that action to a Christian or Islamic pov. You see that it's fundamentally evil.
Schuon started a cult in America that ended up with weird sex rituals, and debauchery.
>>
>>25319739
I'll give Evola this, he mostly kept that to its own books and it was appropriately vague even there. His Doctrine of Awakening is even pretty accurate and clear (extremely clear for Evola) once you get to the actual ascesis and as long as you'reaware that part 1 was written by a Traditionalist who believed he was paying a debt. It's just that you get the reeee mentioned by >>25302138 as the first response by many.
>>25319520
He mostly used what was the most common mythic theme rather than recent revelations. Mostly. There's a letter from Evola out there to Guenon where he's basically having a whinge and trying to figure out why his soul wanted to be born in such a way as it would become paralysed, and his later additions to stuff like Meditations on the Peaks are obviously mourning his legs without deviating from his thoughts. I haven't read Guenon, but the man did bugger off to join a sufi initiatory order, live in north africa and changed his name to comply with his beliefs of traditionalist initiatory experiences. I'm not claiming that the ooo spooky occult wizard worship me types don't exist but the pair of them were genuine believers.

>>
>>25319520
Natural informational decay does not apply to manifestations of a higher divine principle and the lineages of men that are initiated in the uncorrupted spiritual virility of these monarchs. Not saying I necessarily agree or disagree with him here, just that natural informational decay is caused by decadence and materialism in the traditionalist's view.
>>
>>25320319
He isn't entirely consistent. And it's often conflated with his variations on the difference between soul and spirit. You have something, wether actual soul/spirit or ersatz extrusion of racial mind spirit stuff, but it's either going to be re-absorbed or become eternal/be transfigured into a real soul.

Out of all Christian denominations he gives Catholicism the most praise, at least in Revolt. I find it almost funny, especially after having slogged through the multiple, several chapter long seethe sessions he has in Pagan Imperialism.

From this thread - and the silmarillion - I'm convinced that maybe ten percent of posters actually read the books they post about. I mostly skim Evola since endless 'See, see, this myth corresponds to this!' Is boring but I don't think they even engage with it on that level.
Mystery of the Grail needs more citations for his myth sources though.

Before we drop off the board in autosage: Anyone who is genuinely interested in Evola could do worse than his Handbook for Right Wing Youth. He's like a communist, good at pointing out problems but his solutions are iffy. Still, lots of it is relevant today.

I subscribe to this philosophy. Whatever it is. I’ve never read Evola in full. His words go over my head, but if that is what it all boils down to, well obviously. Have you ever been in a social environment, in the workplace. There are those who are the club, and there are those who are out of it. Simple as. How do I know? because I’m in the club

Here's a simple thought exercise:
>people who recognize statistical distributions in quality, and that the majority of people below a certain criteria are 'lesser' are right, no matter where on that distribution they are
>the fact that they can AND do observe this and recognize this reflects the quality of their mind, thus putting them above people who don't
but you might add, isn't this a superficial idea? Anyone can have it, it doesn't correlate with anything
The answer to that is: having the above opinion, that
>Anyone can have it, it doesn't correlate with anything
puts you at a lower place in said distribution, putting you at 2 wrongs compared to someones 1 right
But not only that: Both wrongs contradict each other
>all people are the same
yet there's a difference, a major one
>it doesn't matter
except this one, which contradicts the above 2 statements
>that one guarantees your lesser
so now you have 3 wrongs
see the issue?

>Dunning Kruger
That's not what Dunning Kruger actually is, nor does the effect display in the way you'd describe. It would more likely be narcissism (or some kind of irrational lying).
Most people in general don't just say whatever whenever, when it comes to the topic of statistical analysis in the population, as well as in person analysis of the question of the quality of the mind, actually measured responses are quite rare. Most are allergic to it, some decry it, a lot will send hate at you if you even bring up a single controversial point regarding it.
It's why race IQ discussion gets you blacklisted from the entirety of the Judeo-Christian west.

>even the most retarded people on earth see themselves as smarter than everyone else
They don't. Unintelligent people are generally "narcissistic" but not convinced that they're smart, only that they're right. Your general misunderstanding of
>'people doing X for reasons'
and
>'people repeating shit because the "masses" can only repeat what they're told'
is stemming from your failure to analytically approach this problem and instead assign every trait and behavior as an equivalent manifestation of a single 'blobsubhuman' rather than realize that the context behind different, reasoned people is emphatically a much larger gap between meaning inferred from experiences as well as an uncountable amount of personally wanted aspirations that get converged into the same thing across people. And b4 you ask, you were the one generalizing everyone into a single robot, I'm trying to do the opposite.

A few things
>most high IQ people who aren't into this autistic discussion fail to realize how lesser everyone else is
>high iq peeps tend to have a lot of aspirations that are objectively much more plausible and desirable than most
>they tend to get put down a lot by people in their environment and are more easily hurt by environmental dissonance (humanity is the main species to shape their environment around their needs, high IQ people have fewer things they can do to achieve their specific standard)
>if any spiritual/metaphysical layer exists, they'd clearly be the first target for it's interference, not the politicians

>>but surely among that 99% are hundreds of thousands who also believe they're based and still remain in the herd?
You're misunderstanding attempts at 'group play' or 'tribalism' or w/e with the Evola subject
Everyone who believes in Left/Right wing dichotimies and partakes in twitter politics shitposting is participating in what I'm mentioning here, but not what Evola OP was talking about.
In fact, if we go by the most basic method of 'you are what you eat' then a person trying to Evolave (hehe) even if they're not yet there, is more likely to become such an aristocrat than a person who doesn't care at all and only seeks to further identify with twitter politics subgroups. That's the basis of personal advancement is it not? Think of the best thing anyone can be and become better than that. If not, what else?

The original Indian religion was made by people of pale skin, like the guy who went on to become Buddha who had blue eyes. More white than the Afghan TIME picture girl. Ancient India practiced caste Slavery where white people collected brown slaves, and the whites and browns weren't allowed to mix. This got destabilized with the Muslim invasion and later Brit colonization destroying this 'barrier' so now there's basically 0 of those Brahman around.
I've read a bit of Evola and overall he is much more 'positive' sounding than his portrait would make you believe (as being very angry and upset all the time)

The actual Indian religion that Evola was quoting? The famed parts we all associate with Yoga, Brahman, fire sacrifice etc were all made by the Indo-Aryan migrations into the Indus valley (who practiced a primitive fertility cult religion)
from one search:
Indo-Aryan Migrations
Nomadic tribes from Central Asia entered India around 1500 BCE.
Introduced the Vedas, hymns to gods like Indra, Agni, and Varuna.
Brought Indo-European language (Sanskrit) and ritual practices centered on fire sacrifice.
Established the Vedic religion, which evolved into classical Hinduism.
After that, the "Brahmin" class ruled India and continued developing the religion into what we know it as now. It's a lesser known fact nowadays because those Indo Aryans are mostly gone
