The former might actually happen, and while she could be restrictive to Seiren (basically the combined Yami_Q_Ray in the image of a young Freyja who sees herself as the latter's daughter moments before her death), it's so that she could live longer than her mother. It's gotta be grounds for the next Macross, where Seiren is the MC serving both songstress and ace pilot roles in one, discovering her singing talent that Mirage fears would kill the up and coming flying ace when overused. Could even strengthen Mirage's motherly resolve over the course of the story.

You sound like someone who never actually watched or listened to a vtuber. Macross has already done virtual personas and digital singers. The main thing the technology has allowed is for the performers to act out their role with mocapped models as another form of promotion. Hell, they brought back Dejiko as a Vtuber to sing Party Night.
