If Gundam is an anti-war show, is it suggesting that there's always a better solution than war? So in 0079, the Spacenoids should have just like sent an angry memo? Just accepted their fate?

Gundam defends fighting when you're attacked. See how Amuro's mother is portrayed negatively for hating him after learning he became a soldier, or the Federation bureaucrats in CCA who wanted to settle things peacefully and crippling the Londo Bell just for their own convenience even though it was clear Char was preparing for war.

Zeon's actions aren't defensible at all since they started the conflict. They didn't declare independence, then were attacked by the Federation and went on a war to ensure their independence. They declared independence then started a war so they could take over the Earth sphere's economy and sustain their country.

They declared independence TWO decades before the One Year War. Framing the One Year War as a War of Independence has always been ridiculous.
