Do you have no understanding of the Japanese language or have no reading comprehension whatsoever?
The Earth people who found Ideon mostly destroyed. They repaired it in the only way they knew how, to make it vehicles.

The humans didn't rebuild it since they didn't know it could transform in a giant robot. They did add weapons to it and in some cases put them in places that would be unusable once combined. Also they put in real chairs after a brief stint of using shitty patio furniture.

I'm probably forgetting things since I watched it so long ago but I seem to remember they found Ideon in truck form, separated. Was it really transformed into trucks by the humans?
Also I guess in Tomino universe, aliens are mostly just humans too, like in L-gaim, so it doesn't really matter that it's trucks, but still it's funny that this soul-carrying planet destroyer is literally 3 trucks
