Define ass. SL will never, ever run at like 200fps or whatever. 60fps is considered very good unless you have a near flagship GPU. Speaking of, define "couple months old machine" - that could mean "I bought a 3060ti two months ago" as much as it can mean "I just bought a 5090".
Servers run at 45tps anyway so chasing fps numbers isn't particularly important.

I think it's mostly because LL is a real company that tries to maintain a respectable public image. Yeah people know it's mostly a furry sex simulator but LL still maintains the pretense that they can post respectable corporate blogposts and talk about their "metaverse" and shit. So when media publishes an article like "there's literal pedophiles in SL!!!!", LL actually cares about the media fallout and after this happened once they're now immensely strict about it in-world.
Meanwhile f-list is literally a fetish ERP website and so people just expect it to have all the worst degeneracy. Nobody's gonna publish an article like "guys there's people listing loli on f-list!" because nobody's gonna care, least of all f-list itself.

Also a possible aspect of this is that SL kind of still tries to be family-friendly even, what with the region ratings, the old "teen" grids and whatnot. While f-list is strictly adults only. If a kid gets onto f-list, the issue is not "what if someone has loli in their profile and talks to a kid", the issue is going to be "literally anyone connecting to that kid will be literally erping with a child".

That's around $20. Are you rich when you have $20 worth of in-game currency?
This is a very subjective question to answer because some people treat in-game currency like a toy currency, so having any amount that has non-negligible value makes you rich, especially if it's all acquired through in-game means and without spending any real money.
But if you're the kind of person who's happy to buy digital currency for games you play, and measure its value based on its real money value, then $20 is really not very much at all.

I'd say in SL it's still less than in most other games because the economy is pretty closely tied to IRL money, which means even if you do something like sell items in a shop, lots of people buying them will be of the latter kind and will be freely spending money based on its real value conversion.

Personally I'd say 5k lindens is precisely middle class: you have comfortable spending money, you are not poor, but you are not wealthy by any means. Rich starts from 100k, super-rich from 1M and above. Poor is mostly below 1k, but only if you're not regularly spending (if you're constantly getting lindens and then buying shit and your resting balance is close to 0, that doesn't mean you're poor).
