Sometimes I wonder how fun it'd have been if Trixie was Twilight's apprentice instead of Glimmer. Trixie being a selfish, chaotic, narcissist would've played well with Twilight's controlling and mature personality.
If only

Wouldn't be very interesting, Trixie doesn't really bring anything new over Dash. Starlight filled a niche none of the m6 covered because of her unique personality and circumstances, she learned lessons and grew in ways that the m6 didn't. Worthy students also need to have immense magical potential, that seems to be the bare minimum to be considered for princess training. Trixie's passion is her magic shows anyway, it makes no sense to drag her out of her career and it makes no sense to fix Trixie because Trixie being an asswipe is her whole appeal. Toxic Yuri? Startrix does it better and we get a very wholesome Twistar relationship on top of it. So... your idea would just make everything worse to be honest.

She wanted to impress Celestia and thought Trixie would ruin everything like usual.

>Starlight filled a niche none of the m6 covered because of her unique personality and circumstances
If by unique personality you mean having no personality besides "I break everything apart at the slightest inconvenience and I expect everyone to treat me like a poor victim for doing so while suffering no consequences" then yes.
>she learned lessons and grew in ways that the m6 didn't
She literally learned nothing. She's as awful of a character as she was when they introduced her, only now she is "redeemed" according to a hack-writer who has not got a decent job since the show ended.
>Trixie being an asswipe is her whole appeal
That was the problem with her.
She was meant to be a cautionary tale about what happens when you let your ego take over you. But Haber never got that and McCarthy at least tried to turn her into a better person by the end of Magic Duel, with mixed results.

I love that this applies to Trixie too nearly 1-1. Poetic.

Haha funny meme. Here's an AJ version of your post just for fun, we can easily make a version for every character, for Twilight we don't even really have to change much:
If by unique personality you mean having no personality besides "apples apples apples" then yes.
AJ literally learned nothing. She's as awful of a character as she was when they introduced her by hack-writers that became nobodies after the show ended.
>She was meant to be a cautionary tale about what happens when you let your ego take over you.
Trixie wasn't meant to be whatever you personally wanted for her, Twixie fanfiction isn't canon either.
