same. I'm not sure anything has had me hooked like it, I remember learning it all on guitar and playing along to it day after day for weeks.. and when that got boring I started playing along to the live shows. Live versions of you cant quit me baby and walkin on the sidewalks from that 98 to 01 era are the highlights

I've always wanted another album like this one. Getting some live shows from that era is a really good suggestion.

Is Like Clockwork a throwback or is it more gimmicky and radio friendly like Songs for the Deaf?

LC is a pretty big departure from everything before, more radio friendly but I think that is just natural considering what josh was writing about on there. It still has tracks that rock hard, I like my god is the sun

Also I don't know if I can put this into words that will make sense. But the first QOTSA album is a really sexy album. I'm usually more of a 70s jazz guy (lol I know) but that first album is really nice to make out or fuck along to.
But after that their albums seemed to lose that quality of being kind of languid and sensual.
Not trolling I swear.

Alot of the songs do have a sort of psychosexual theme to them in the lyrics, almost voyeuristic so it makes sense. I remember reading that the first 3 albums are quite literally Sex, Drugs, Rock N Roll but I dont think thats what josh intended
