The year is 1963. Music is invented for the first time in history.

Yes, no wonder The Beatles were a revelation, they did unironically invent modern music.

rock music was on the verge of death at the end of the 50s, most of the rockers were dead or in prison, elvis joined the army.
People thought rock was dead and guitar groups were out.
the early 60s musically was brill building pop, motown girls, and just cheesy teen pop.
then the beatles fell out of the sky and the rest was history

Chuck Berry existed, zoom zoom.
And though there's no denying the Beatles were a good r and r band and they innovated in other areas like harmony singing, they couldn't come close to the almost other-worldly electricity of CB's guitar combo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-9Y4CCIWnM
But your historically ignorant comment does raise an interesting question, why was there and apparent dearth of guitar r and r in early 60's USA? It wasn't totally dead as guys like Johnny Rivers were still playing guitar r and r as energetic as the Beatles and the 50's Americans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afFH_cJc004, but it wasn't being played on the radio much and local r and r bands pretty much dried up (one of the guys from CCR said they were the only r and r band in their area pre-Beatles until about 100 sprung up overnight after the Beatles on Sullivan).
