Quadrophenia and My Generation are the only good studio albums made by The Who and I find so strange for a band with so many great songs that so many of their albums are really not good.
Granted, Who's Next has some of their best songs but half the album is really nonsensical filler. The two albums following My Generation are just joke albums, Tommy is so strangely pretentious for a band that had not made a serious album prior and then after Quadrophenia they just became mediocre. I really think Tommy is one of the most overrated albums of all time Tbh.
But I think My Generation and Quadrophenia are the only albums which really represent the band for what they. Quadrophenia is a stone cold masterpiece and My Generation is one of the coolest albums of the 60s.
