Why do comeback albums always suck?
Do 10+ year hiatuses just cause artists to lose all their talent?

the greatest artists only have, at most, 60 minutes worth of good music in them throughout a lifetime. anyone who thinks otherwise is a sycophant.

The Beatles are an exception to this rule, even if you don't like them it's hard to argue that they have almost no filler

Except for their first 6 (out of 12) albums of Buddy Holly and Motown covers.

why do greatest hits albums of "legends" not reach 60 minutes and still have filler tracks?
>>
>>130012858
Stereolab has like 2 good albums.

"greatest hits" albums are garbage. they're just meant to be commercial products. commercially viable art doesn't necessarily correlate with good art.

This was a great comeback album wtf are you talking about
>>
>>130012858
This was okay. Not embarrassing.

Have you tried developing an attention span?
>>
>>130013476
Apart from 3 tracks it was definitely mostly junk. You just have really low standards.

because they're all probably parents living in different places with completely different lives than they had when they were young. The initial environment that led to the music in the first place is long gone, they're now just old friends trying to have fun.
If the goal for you is to enjoy shit, then I've found the best way to intake this kinda thing is go see the band live on the tour they're inevitably doing, hear all the classics, get a couple of the new songs thrown in there, they'll sound better in context maybe

is an attention span needed when something is boring but you feel the need to convince yourself it's good?

I agree. I'd like to add that I'm also gay.
>>
>>130013066
I wouldn't say 60 minutes but like 3-4 albums as much, yeah. With few exceptions
