Why are burgers like this? In civilized countries you just put "no filming allowed" on the poster or do a PA announcement bofore the start and everyone understands.
>>130558154 h-hey pal don't disrespect the heckin' hustle I'm STRUGGLING out here! funko pops don't just pay for themselves ya know a-and I just GOTTA get the new Slipknot funko and live show recordings sell for top dollar since pirate sites don't record those, heh suckers!
I actually want to live in the reality where fuckers are actually on the street selling recordings of phone free shows from their car trunks I wanna see that news report
>>130558056 Unless the artist is debuting new material I don’t really understand the need to ban phones at their shows. I’m not strongly against it, mind you, but I simply don’t understand it
>>130558394 Your future is decided by malding manbabies. You keep hoping we will kos, but we are capable of levels of spite that zoomers can’t even imagine.
>>130558121 I worked with Yondr at a Ghost concert last year, to open these pouches it's the same mechanism as one of those magnetic retail security tags, you through the clasp against a big chunky magnetic block and it opens. Problem is that when you have 20k+ people all streaming out of the concert at the same exact time then speed is the priority, there was one guy I was working with who accidentatly smashed someone's phone screen while slamming the pouch clasps against the magnet to unlock. I was speaking with one of the Yondr managers at the gig and apparently this usually happens at least once during every show lol
>>130559188 genks and 1980s millennial internet was cool. web 2.0 zuccy fuccy long time was a complete slop bucket apart from flash games and pre-algo youtube. centralization and user profit sharing ruined everything
problem's not "women" per se but more that the Interwebz attracts specifically women who look like Lena Dunham. normally adjusted women are too busy shopping or driving their kids to school or whatever to go on Twitter and cancel this and that.
>>130558137 in a storage system for 20k phones in identical pouches obviously if they can manage 20k life-size people being there the can also manage storage for 20k phones (if they want)
and by the way boomers are just as bad if not worse with their phones oh I'm just filming for a short while because it's really important to me right now yeah haha I know it's annoying for everyone else but I'm just that self-centered that I'll do it anyway
>>130559888 Most of these phone free pouch companies like Yondr are separate from the venue, to manage storage and cloaking is way too much of a hassle when the priority is to get the phones in and out of the pouches as seamlessly as possible, it's easier to give someone a pouch with their phone in it too than completely take it away from them, a lot less arguments that way
The one arm of the live music industry who loses out with these pouches is merch, a majority of merch sales are post-gig and when most people these days pay with their phone you're missing out on a lot of sales from people pouring out of the venue in their post-gig refractory period
>>130558154 I'd love to see a concert where they do this, and when people inevitably take out their phones anyway, the band stops the music until the fans behave again.
>>130560023 yeah but I just mean concert organizers always use "it's so many people we could never do it" as an excuse but somehow when it comes to receiving money the size of the crowd is not an issue anymore for some reason you'll never hear an organizer say "oh no we can't sell overpriced drinks to 20k people the logistics are just IMPOSSIBLE" but then when it comes to shit like preventing ticket resale using id checks or stopping people from filming the whole time or anything else they just can't be arsed to it's just too many people no we could never...
>>130558056 I wish there was a way to use a cell phone jammer to prevent phones but they could turn it off so people can have one song to show off with.
>>130558056 >artist makes reasonable request of audience. >most of the audience complies, no problem >a handful go full Karen REEEEEEEEE I AM PAYING CUSTOMER AND THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT meh, this is has been going on for decades.
King Crimson had a thing about not photography or smoking at their shows in the 90s, and grown-ass adults threw tantrums over it.
I say more power to the artist, I love that there are more people going "fuck the 'film my life and watch it later' mentality" - and despite the few tweets like what you see in OP's thread, the Zoomies are actually getting this right more than the Xers or boomers ever did.
>>130558056 This is like saying niggers loot shoe stores and jewelers to give back to their community. Come on bro, you are just trying to convince yourself at this point.
>>130570647 smoking should be mandatory at concerts since the best music can only be truly appreciated when accompanied by a crisp pack of richmond superkings

>>130570647 >no smoking yeah in the 90s it was odd (because usually gigs were just thick with smoke except in the rare case the venue was non-smoking).
But back then it was very, very hard to get a camera of pretty much any size into a venue, but people still would, and they would take flash pictures even after Fripp was like "nah don't do that"
