I was sort of in a bad mood worrying about certain things and decided to put this slowcore album by Bedhead - I listened to it before, good album, yes - but I noticed while listening that I was put in a much tranquil mood and stopped worrying so much, at least for the time being. I'm normally pissed off but while listening thought about giving people the benefit of the doubt and seeing a brighter side of things. I don't think I'd have felt this way if I was listening to punk, metal, or rap which I usually listen to. It made me wonder just how powerful music can be, at least for me. I also wonder if it's just the placebo effect. I also noticed this feeling doesn't really last too long afterwards, maybe an hour at best most of the time... What about you, /mu/? Do you relate? Have any similar stories you would like to share? Or anything to weigh in on this?
