Yes but they also feel like bike versions of suvs
>>

in what sense?

it's the worst of both worlds, not a road bike, not a mountain bike even though manufacturers now add a RockShox Rudy to the bikes nowadays with negligible travel, but if you asked me to pick a bike that's generally on paved/semi-paved/gravely terrain with the occasional ride on forest paths where the ride may span hours (drop handlebars are great for this imo), I'd pick a gravel bike over the mtb, it's made for that precise purpose

theyre just "hybrids" for zoomers and just as awful. drop bars in low traction are stupid. offroading with no suspension is stupid. internal routing and "integrated"(proprietary, unmaintainable) cockpits are stupid even on normal roads. just get an entry level hardtail mtb
>>
Once society collapses, there will be no paved roads. Roadies will seethe starving to death while you krkrkrkrkr on by. Hybrids and 26ers will not be fast enough to outrun the hordes. You have been warned.

There's a park near me that got its roads washed out by a flood and so no vehicles are allowed, but needless to say I go anyway and my road bike does just fine. Noobs just think they need full suspension and fatbike tires for the slightest irregularities because they don't know how to actually ride a bike.

>offroading with no suspension is stupid
It's really fun, learn to pick your lines retard.
>>
that rack is pretty retarded
>>
all my roads are dirt
been using them since they were called cyclocross bikes

they are pretty great for commuting since they have a more relaxed geo
if you dont have dirt roads than endurance bikes/all road are fine, but they tend to be more niche

thank you Spesh, very cool

If you're an aggressive rider, CX geometry will be a lot more fun. Find the right frame and it's also an excellent commuter. If you prefer being marginally more comfortable at the cost of agility then go gravel. Throw some 32mm slicks on and you're golden.

racks aren't for carrying stuff its just for style, like the racks on the roofs of cars

Are you the 350 pound guy who was asking for advice in the last thread? Let's hear the greentext please.

This board somehow manages to produce a new all time dumbest post for this entire website every day.

Yes. im currently planing on building a surly midnight special with 650b wheels and a 1x GRX groupset. Im just not sure if it will look funny because the wheels are small and im 6'2

>it's the worst of both worlds
That's stupid, they're not there to excel at any of those extremes. They can do everything well enough to be a great allrounder. You could still hit singletrails if you wanted and hate your wrists.

You design a better one then. If you're smart then why don't you own a bicycle company?
>>
>>2074039
Works fairly well with panniers.
>>
>>2074742
Brainlet take. I don't need to own a bicycle rack company to critique dumb design
>>
>>2074743
>can't lay panniers over top because there's nothing to attach to and it slopes back
>even if it stays attached, it's stressed in the middle of the center sheet and will wear a hole in it before long
0/10 design, definitely made by someone who has seen a rack before but doesn't know what they're for or how they're used
