Pressed on Trump’s threat, the White House press secretary said the US will follow the law.
Trump’s threat: President Donald Trump said the US may blow up and obliterate Iran’s electric plants and oil wells if a deal to end the war is not reached and the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened. Asked about Trump’s threat, the White House said the US military will follow the law.

Taken literally it means what >>1501774 says. They’ll do whatever they’re allowed to do without being prosecuted under US law, which right now means they can kill schoolgirls.

He’s been threatening this for a few days now and extending his deadlines. Iran have said they will match escalation, meaning if their civilian infrastructure is attacked they will retaliate by attacking civilian infrastructure, and they’ve done so in numerous occasions. What Trump is threatening to do has already been done, oil refineries and desalination plants and power plants and steelworks, they’ve even bombed a university in Tehran

He's clearly just flailing. They dropped sanctions on Iranian oil; that's not a move you make out of strength. Sure, the US could start obliterating Iranian oil infrastructure... but then oil goes up to 200 a barrel (which it might do anyways).

As insane as this all has been/still is, there are lines his followers will not cross.
He was vaccinated for covid. He gave a speech trying to take credit for the vaccine being produced in record time. It wasn't until the crowd started to turn on him that he really leaned into anti-vax bullshit.
He's really nothing special, he just doesn't have a filter that other people do, and is good at letting himself be a blank slate for people to project their grievances on. Any psychopath with a propaganda machine and a corporate backing could do the same, most would probably do better without half melted brains.

You're forgetting that he denied the virus was a thing for the first 3 months until he figured out he could use it as an excuse to ban tourists and immigrants.

Nah, the difference is that most of those psycopaths come off as clearly disingenuous or souless (see Newsom). Trump is a mean-spirited little man, but there's something genuinely human about him compared to the vapid collection of consultant talking points in a suit and tie that are most other politicians.

Just give up old man. All the blustering and late-night Truth-ing won't work this time other than give some bearded Iranian something to laugh at.
You've raised the oil prices, set the Iranian pro-Democratic movement back two generations by creating a 'rally round the flag' effect and about the only people who won here was the Jews, who get to expand their lebensraum in Lebanon.

tRump is going to make sure Hegseth's signatures on the orders and then deny knowing anything about it afterwards.
Or plead non compos mentis.
As for attacking desalination plants.
Israel is a global leader in desalination, with five major Mediterranean plants—Ashkelon, Hadera, Sorek, Palmachim, and Ashdod—supplying roughly 70–80% of its drinking water.
Same goes for the Saudis
A few well placed explosions and America's going to have to export a lot of bottled water

Russia won. US is pulling a lot of support from Ukraine, and sanctions have been removed.
China is winning as well. Taiwan and the rest of Asia is getting fucked by the oil shortage, and the US has pulled a lot of military assets from the region, which will be good for China when it decides to flatten Taiwan and resettle it with mainlanders next year.

This really is the only solution to bring the war criminal republicans to justice since assuming trump doesn't stage a coup, he's just going to pardon everyone so they can't proseucted in the US.
A good thing pardons don't cover international criminal courts.
Hell, you could send trump to stand trial. Or even better, hand him and Hegseth over to whatever country we're still at war at as part of a peace negotiation.

I mean, ever since the fascist faggot threatened their broadcast licenses CNN has been pretty right wing. They barely talk about the horrible shit he's doing they should be critiquing. Yesterday they ran a story about an airport in Florida changing its name after Dementia Donny, as if there's nothing more noteworthy going on in airports.
