Why dont the police persecute people who drive like niggers?
Tailgating?
Weaving through traffic?
Overly bright headlights?
No lets go after people who go slightly over the speed limit in situations that hurt no one.

any anons here that have a car with 5-3/4"/146mm sealed beam housings, if you want a decent H4 conversion housing, toyota sells a kit for both H4 and H1 bulbs:
H4: 90981-08H12
H1: 90981-08H15
you only need one of each - each kit comes with two housings. harass your local toyota dealer, or buy them from amayama.
They're about 40-50 bucks per kit from amayama, for OEM quality 20-25 bucks per housing is incredibly cheap, especially considering that they also include the bulbs in both kits. Mind you, the bulbs are for 24V systems so either chuck them out or resell them on marketplace or something, then replace them with your own 12V bulbs.
Dealers will probably be 60-70 bucks guessing on the typical price differences between amayama and dealers for other parts.

If you're refer to the classic Holdens and Fords from 10+ years ago, they're nostalgia larp machines now. They used to be properly used by tradie but they've been long since replaced with things like the Ford Ranger.
>>
>>28887439
I reckon they'll make a comeback if diesel keeps going the way it's going. Really the only advantage a single cab Hilux or Ranger has over a Falcon ute is the ability to go off road and a higher towing capacity. The payload on the Falcon is about the same.

anything that takes the 5.75" standard sealed beam will take that, but do check how much clearance you have directly behind the lamps for the connector, wiring etc.
You can get cheap aftermarket ones from retail stores that have glass lenses, but they're only a few bucks cheaper so you might as well shell out for these. Plus, the aftermarket ones are apparently chinese knockoffs of an actual decent housing that may potentially throw the light pattern into oncoming traffic, but from what I can see they don't seem to do that. The little tabs that align them in the bucket are kind of lopsided though, so the lens looks a bit slanted compaerd to the rest of the car.
I dunno how popular 24V bulbs are in the 4WD/offroading community but these toyota ones do come with a bulb in each housing, so you could probably sell them to get some of your money back.

That and ACCC doing jackshit about price gouging. The price ramped up within 3 days of it all starting (long before a drop of that oil could even reach any refinery in the world) and the ACCC decided "nothing we can do bro, sorry". I sure wish I could teleport fresh fuel to my town instantly like all the other stations seemed to do.
>>
>>28889530
radio news bulletin just said that the accc is getting more powers in response to allegations of price gouging. then they played back some minister saying
>petrol companies. you. are. on. notice.
LOL. will be very surprised if anything actually happens
>>
>>28887810
They tend to be a bit fucky as the convertor is kept operational as its tied into the coolant system, so if they don't get enough flow they freeze up. Also do a vacuum check on everything to make sure its not leaky and for some reason they tend to eat sparkplugs so check through the ignition system as well (leads, plugs, compression test while you're there and coil packs)
Apart from that, its a falcoo and usual ford things

>>28889882
Depends on how rural you are. If you're within 2 hours of a major city, you're usually going to be fine. I have managed to see diesel run dry in a few places but I suspect trucks and tradies are to blame for that one, along with signs saying they don't allow jerry cans.
>>
>>28889885
I'm in Sydney north shore. Lots of stations in the western suburbs were running dry but none in the north, this week though they numbers have been stacking up. Haven't ever once seen an out of order pump in all of north sydney unless it was actually broken, not because of empty tanks.

It wasn't always shit, for a very long time people liked their Holden, Ford and Valiants for being reasonably priced, locally built cars.
Just that when you'd turn up at a car meets and all the Holden/Ford 'fans' tended turn up in their Landcruisers and Patrols, didn't own one of them even as a do-er upper, it was kind of all over

It only got shitty in the much later years when it got taken over by bogans. Before that Commodores and Falcons were the every man's car and everyone's dad had one, but by the late 2000s they were considered bogan because that's who started being the loudest about them.
It's strange to think there was a time where these were cars executives and professionals would drive, my dad got a VT for work in the first model year and it was the coolest thing I'd ever been in.

Been digging into alternative fuels for my old 3L 1990 Hilux. You've got to run an old pre-commonrail diesel for it to work.
>chip shop oil: filter with stockings, cut with 10-20% diesel
>used engine oil: need a centrifuge to weed out the impurities, cut with 50% diesel.
>ATF oil: apparently it runs fine as is.
>hydraulic oil: same as ATF oil. Is actually cheaper than diesel currently at $2.50 per liter. Gotta buy 1000L of the stuff though.

Utility vehicle. But that doesn't matter. The distinction of ute and truck exists because a full size american truck is not the same as a commodore/falcon/hilux, they are different leagues. If someone says truck it's obvious they are talking about the american trucks, if they say ute its obvious they are talking about commodore/falcon/hilux etc.

They havent lost any capability since last gen since they have the same drivetrain and chassis design, although the toyota engineers seem to be trying to make the hilux more and more into a car with the interior. Big ol touchscreen and driving aids that seem way out of place for a "utilitarian" vehicle - the new rouge has a carpet tray ffs. Thankfully it hasn't received the spy cam (driver awareness nonsense) that the higher trim prados and landcruisers got. Not worth buying especially since you can get last gen for much cheaper and have the same capability unless you want to have le big screen.
>>
>>28887404
The top end models are lipstick on a pig that's had plastic surgery to look like every other wallowing dual cab pig on the road.
Otherwise the basic 4x2 and 4x4 single cab, basic bitch manual models are still decent value for money in a lot of ways, plus the 4x4 still has low range and the TD engine isn't bad at all.

HWP should fucus their attention on other heavy vehicles with four wheels and leave bikes alone.
Which is the lesser of two evils in the following scenario?"
>the 189kg motorbike doing 75 in a 60 zone
or
>the 2.5 TONNE police SUV doing 95 in the same 60 zone trying to catch the aforementioned bike (to give him a fine)?
Fuck the police.

>following someone on highway
>get to overtaking lane
>person in front indicates, turns into overtaking lane and sits there the whole length of it despite nobody being in front of them
Never seen this bizarre behavior before and witnessed it happen 3 times in the last week, jeet drivers or just a new driving meta?
>>
>>28907322
people just have no fucken clue. i've been in three ubers where they had no idea about keeping left unless overtaking and i had to backseat drive and nicely ask them to move to the next lane because i could see the guy behind riding our ass because he wanted to get past the pack of cars.
>>
>>
>>28907355
oh the times i was in the ubers was just heading to and from the airport for work trips. at least in the city people just don't know.
out in the country it still happens but it's much less prevalent. i remember once up near the jenolan caves area there was a road that had turnouts for slower traffic to let faster traffic pass and both myself and some echo/yaris in front of me caught up quickly to some crossover and they didn't bother moving into two turnouts in a row despite the echo riding his ass, so both of us and the car behind us just passed this slow poke on double solids lol.

i think i used nrma when i had my car driven up from melb to syd
engine overheated due to previous owner bypassing the heater core with such a tight bend in the hose that it kinked and created a pinhole leak, and the temp gauge was busted so driver had no idea.
the tow cost almost as much as just putting it on a car carrier...almost.

Had some guy drive into me trying to prevent me from merging. Left a big fat tyre mark on my rear quarter. Then he just drove off.
No dash cam and only got third party property insurance. Did get his number plate though.
Went to the cop shop last night and they got through to his daughter who gave some details but have had no response from the guy himself, i need him to claim.
Am I fucked? Since there unlikely any damage to him since he just got me with his tyre.
>>

>>28909136
That's what's going on?? I've been so confused for weeks now when I'm on the freeway and constantly pass people in the fast lane. It used to be that I'd go in the right lane to pass just one slow cunt on occasion but lately I'm just going past slow cunts constantly.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>28910539
also in my case, some numpty love tapped me in the rear at a set of lights because he wasn't paying attention. pulled over to a side street because it's absolutely retarded that people will clog up a congested main road just to exchange info, looked in my mirror and the cunt had driven off. rear cam caught his plates nice and clear, went to the cops who couldn't be any less interested in doing their jobs, gave me a reference number, filed a claim with my insurer, then forgot about it for three months because there wasn't really any noticeable damage, until i got an email saying my excess was refunded...seems like they got the guy.
in your case the cops hopefully gave you a reference number or something that you can then give to your insurer.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>28910615
yeah but like these plans don't even call themselves comprehensive for some reason. it's weird. like nrma has one called 'third party property damage' unless that's just how they like to say comprehensive.
>>
>>28910383
This situation usually happens because you were behind the guy who hit you and sped up to pass him and try and merge in front of him but he stood his ground. You could've avoided an impact by speeding up to ensure you had room to merge in front of him but you couldn't do that because there was another vehicle there. You tried to jam your vehicle into a tight gap in front of the guy who hit you. Or to put it more accurately: the guy YOU hit.
Your fault. Toll paid.
>>
>>28910619
your plan doesn't say "comprehensive" because it's not a comprehensive plan. you opted for the "third party only" plan.
a 3rd party is the owner of the house you drove into after losing control of your burnout

I still remember someone doing this to a coppers house in my little town in the mid 2000s, apparently it was one of the older kids in high school with a HQ ute and they just sat there spinning for ages waking the entire street up, the skidmarks were still on the driveway for years.
