Thinking of getting a Mustang GT. Had a V8 in my old Jeep Cherokee that was custom put in by the previous owner and I miss it a lot (currently driving a v6 Wrangler).

my 2010 shitbox is infinitely fun to drive.

kek, that's pretty funny anon. But no, you don't buy a 2010 mustang to go fast. (Or quick; it's a NA 5 speed MT, pretty much any modern AT could beat it off the line.)
It's for comfy cruising, and i have no illusions as to it being a hekkin fast sports car whatsoever.

i'd look for the previous gen v8's
they had generally more diverse options and got more oomph down low
the current model is a bit more muted all-way-round

Auto. I’ll admit I don’t know stick. Only shifting gears I’ve done is on a motorcycle I owned for about three years

I had a mustang and it was a great car, I really liked it, but it might be the worst sounding V8 ever put in a car. I spent thousands of dollars on multiple different systems and it's just a dogshit exhaust tone. I had one, I think it was MBRP, that sounded really good as long as you kept it under like 3.5-4k rpm so I had to short shift everywhere and it was pretty miserable being so slow

They sound good as long as you don't mess with the resonator (X/H-pipe is the most common 1st asshaust mod every Mustgay owner does becucks cheap).
Only touch the mufflers. That gives deep low bassy tone without tin can rasp. And it does bleating brapping vicious howl at high-RPM because these new Coyotays rev to ~8K.
I did a Muffy D (muffler delete) and it sounded good, but too loud, too much drone. Then switched to Roush axle-backs (just mufflers basically) and it was perfect.
The OEM active asshuast is essentially a toggle-able Muffalo D. Open mode bypasses the mufflers in a path that goes straight through the muffler. Closed mode routes the gas through the muffling chambers.

Are you a zoomer or something? You come off as a huge tryhard.

Agree with both. Firstly Zoomerspeak is an abomination especially on this Holy Easter weekend.
However the core message that "People"...ugh.. who install x or h pipes on mustangs are irredeemable morons cannot be emphasized enough.

H pipes are fine. Xs just make the rasp worse. Hs fix the tone a lot. Some of the best Mustang 5.0s I've heard are with just an active exhaust and a H pipe. The problem is the mustang firing order and cams causes a higher pitch exhaust note and most mufflers on the market make this worse. Which is why F150s typically sound much more throaty. Borla S or AWE Touring with a H pipe is pretty refined, zero drone and really only opens up when you push it beyond 4-5k RPM. The typical mustang bro just puts the cheapest shit fuck exhaust on and thinks louder is better or immediately goes with an ATAK or Corsa Extreme. Once you add long tubes, you need the resonator

wanted a h pipe for my dodge but the exhaust shop put in x pipes saying it'd perform better while doing the same thing :\
couldn't really be bothered fighting them on it but at least it didn't sound awful. actually sounded much better than i thought.
