Anyone have experience importing one of these? Id like a little truck thats 4wd. It would be perfect for my little mountain town to putt around.
Is this the only site or are there better sites? Thanks

Is it a pain in the ass to get it titled and registered in the states?

those prices are outrageous. shitbox kei trucks cost around $1-2k + shipping (probably $1500-2000 since they’re small) + import paperwork/fees ($20 in my case since I did it myself)
You dumb niggers are getting gouged.
from worst to best:
>resellers in the US
>resellers in Japan
>sites that bid for you at auction
>bidding yourself at auction

I've imported two cars, with a third on the way. First was a Subaru Bistro. Here's the main things:
>Registration is state-by-state, and some outright ban kei trucks
>If you live in a kei-legal state, you should run to the DMV for a run-down on the process for a car with a non-standard VIN.
>Or go to the DMV Express. They just titled and registered it.
>These cars are slow as fuck. My Subaru was adequate to get around the 65 mph highways in my state, but I never got anywhere fast, and avoided freeway driving like the plague.

Titling was very easy in my state for a JDM car, Did not care about the frame number being short, all they cared about was thinking the odometer reading was fake because it was so low for the age.
You forgot getting traditional insurance, which also varies state by state, requires manual underwriting instead of an automated process, and can be very frustrating if you have a low level representative on the phone.
I had to switch insurance providers due to refusal of the company to insure a vehicle without FMVSS certificate.
