I've got this shithole 2002 Rav4 that's barely road legal and I wanna mess with it, how do I learn real mechanic shit? I know how to change the brake fluid, clutch fluid, my bodily fluids and all other fuckin fluids but nothing with the good old steel.
Youtube is obvious but any recommendations for search terms, courses or specific channels? And also fine with anything other than Youtube like books and shit will do, no fuckin TAFE tradie courses, sick of those cunts.
Pic taken from Google but that's basically what I'm working with.

Replace the cat with a test pipe and use O2 defoulers to prevent a check engine light.
You turn wrench, bolt turns.
More fuel, more air, more power.
EFI systems have lots of sensors and knowing what they're for is wise.
Uh what do you want to know?

I can't even tell if it's bots, trolls or reading comprehension is just down the gutter on this board...
To simplify:
Give me some Youtube channels or courses that go in depth on automotive (car) mechanical skills and information.
Books and other sources of information are fine, trade courses are not.

It's not that easy, that's what we're trying to say. There's no one source for car knowledge. We also don't know what you do or don't know.
If you don't know how an engine works go to howstuffworks's engine page.

I get that, that's pretty obvious, but I never said "This will be easy" or "I don't think it'd be hard" I simply asked for resources that could help me start to figure it all out.
In terms of what I do and don't know, doesn't really matter because I want to learn everything I can but I know how to maintain a manual, which should've been implied by "I know how to change the fluids" which directly states the extent of my knowledge.

Most people online telling you how to fix shit are stunned and shouldn't be giving advice on how to fix shit. Even some repair manuals are pretty fucking stupid. Wrenching, like fucking a woman, has to be learnt by doing and self teaching.

Holy fucking shit do you people have no idea of what words are, I said to "mess with it" meaning fuck around and modify it, if I wanted this piece of shit fully repaired I'd just take it to a licensed mechanic or buy a new one.
Sure, doing and self teaching, that I can get behind but does that help me understand the inner workings of a car? No.

There's no all inclusive course to teach you how to fuck with your car. You've just gotta do the work yourself. Take shit off, replace it with other shit. See what happens. If it doesn't work, look up why and try again. If you want a relatively low risk starting point, intake and exhaust aren't hard. Try and listen for changes in how the engine runs with different airflow, maybe look into tuning it to work better with the new gear

Do they not make kids take wood/metal shop classes these days? Are there no high school mechanics courses available these days? Does everybody just have "stay at home dads"? It seems like most people are mechanically hopeless these days which is sad considering they have the world in their pocket.
