>I NEED a truck to haul my camper because.... because I just do, okay!!!!
The 1954 documentary "The Long, Long Trailer" proves otherwise. What changed? Why does everyone think they need a lifted 3/4 ton truck with 1000 ft lbs of torque to haul a camper?

Those old cars were pretty much pickup trucks underneath, retard. You also think there might be a difference in speeds in the 50's vs now? How well do you think a 50's car pulling a modern 7000lb camper will do in modern 80mph traffic?

What sort of luddite is still towing a RV trailer these days?
Vanlife is where it's been for the last decade.

actually its unsafe as fuck to tow with vehicles that're that light, even if they have a v8 in them.
knew a shit head who had a 304 v8 cj and a shitty little fiberglass inboard boat managed to jackknife him because of how light it is.
vehicles under 4,500lbs just can't fucking tow shit safely up to 90mph.
I don't care what fucking faggot fedora counter opinion you have, it's not safe to tow with the wrong curb weight.

>dude you GOTTA go 80
>what do you mean the speed limit is 65?
what are people even gonna do if you’re going 65? rear end your trailer? just let them pass you and keep minding your own business.

I am high jacking this thread to ask an RV related question.
I want a motorhome, but every single one is built like shit with flimsy fiberglass and other stuff. I want something sturdy, would it be better to just buy some old school bus and try to make a "skoolie" despite having basically zero welding and/or construction experience? I can do some DIY handyman stuff but a complete overhaul like that requires seems like it might be out of my skillset.

People will just go around you if you're going slow but that creates potentially dangerous situations. Part of being a responsible citizen is to just use the right tool for the job so you don't be an asshole.

All motorhomes are junk unless they're $700k+. School buses are flimsy pop cans on wheels and aren't much better plus by the time they hot the auction block they tend to be pretty clapped. Especially now days when a lot are gas or propane powered. Building out an interior on one isn't rocket science just a lot of work.

They're all garbage unless you're buying something for a million dollars from Provost or something.
I'd get a truck and an airstream. Airstream is basically the only trailer/RV id ever own tbqhwy. Maybe and Alaskan camper if I was a single young man again.

>speed limit is 65
>faggotrons NEED to go 80
>faggotrons cant go around a slower vehicle without endangering others
Hmm, I wonder where the problem is.
