E34 and E36 M cars were presented in purple a lot, the idea was to establish purple as the middle ground between blue (regular BMW) and red (racecar)
The M logo was supposed to reflect this as well, but the middle stripe often comes out as dark blue like in this pic

the real crime was not bringing it back for the blackwings
that and stealth blue
either way a wagon + a wrap should set you back like $17-20k if you're dedicated to having one

>>28960973
nah that's a pretty normal shade of brown for old barns and sheds
the purple however is a pretty rare shade

At least around here it's because any color that isn't white, black or silver needs to be special ordered from the factory, and that takes extra time, so the people who just want a car won't wait for that, and also there's that old rumor that it tanks resale value

I think its a matte mysti-chrome knockoff vinyl wrap.

Has anyone quoted or done a vinyl wrap? I keep hearing prices anywhere between $3000 and $15,000 depending on the vehicle and the specific wrap used. Obviously vehicle makes a difference for all the little shit to be popped off and wrapped, but the vinyl itself can really vary in price?

>>
File: mousetrap.jpg (181.2 KB)

>>28963349
Both - they are universally disliked because they're dangerous. In the event that you do roll over, they are extremely likely to just fold forward and snap your neck. In some ways this could be good, as the likely hood of you surviving a roll over with no roll bar is very slim anyway, so why not die as quickly as possible, but it just makes that already narrow margin of survival waaaaay more narrow.

They're also tacky as fuck, imo.

Oddly enough, I've seen quite a few crashes where the occupants just end up with "minor injuries", despite them looking like pic rel, but then again I've also seen quite a few crashes where pieces of the occupants skull are still scattered around the interior, so... Yeah. Don't flip your Miata is the lesson here I think.
>>
>>28963370
Thankfully flipping a Miata at public road levels of hektik is pretty difficult. At this point in time I'd say you're more likely to get killed in one by someone in a fuckhueg barge crashing into you because they didn't even see you rather than rolling one over.

Twingo is always peak. I love how you rarely see one in boring colors, it's always something that catches your eyes like this.

It feels like purple is reserved mostly for sporty exotic cars, which makes it sort of rare for a standard daily driver car.

The designer explicitly only wanted them to be sold in fun colors initially, and even the grey they added about a year into production was a somewhat interesting shade.
I'd post it, but it's not purple enough for the thread.
