Pretty nice, even though I'm not a big ford nor mustang guy.
Actually I like the foxbody mustangs, especially the ones with the 2.3 turbo 4 banger for some reason.
Also how come I have this memory that these things in your pic had like triangle shaped parking lights on the grille?

I always liked GT's but never bought one myself.
That said I too quite enjoy the seethe this causes here and a tip of the hat because owning one of these in straya or yurope shows some real commitment.

they didnt come from the factory that way but grille mounted fog lamps are a common mod to do on the S550s
imo they look best on the 2011-2014 years where they were more in line with the 1966-1969 era, the new triangle ones aren’t as cool looking

mustang has been on my list for awhile. since im a homeowner im kind of wound up about needing a truck or suv to carry things or whatever. basically i was thinking having a sports car as my only car would be a bad idea but i realized you can just buy a hitch kit and folding trailer and lets you carry pretty much anything. so in the future i may get one

could also just buy a POS work truck for such occasions. we've got a 1998 f150 with 350k miles, paid $800 for it back in 2019, it's just fine for hauling our trash to the dump or picking up whatever garden/building supplies.

You must be new here.

>why THAT 3?
Currents:
1989 5.0 LX (factory fresh) with 89,XXX miles.
>coincidental- ive had it since 40k. But I drive it less and less now because I don't want it to roll over to 90.
I could blog post about that car. Had it since 2001. 2nd owner. Still has the rubber boot around the dizzy.
1990 347 paxton/AFR/cobra/saleen/steeda
Pretty much threw everything at it that I could. Spent nearly a grand on stainless hardware when I built the engine. I actually ran out of stuff i wanted to do to it. People ask.me about it and I forget about what it has- shit like the heim joint tie rods with the bump steer spacers.
You might have seen those pics. It has a Ford Blue BBK SSI intake on it and a polished GSS with a gash on the decal.
1964 1/2 (in the family since new).
It has the 170 c.i. six.
The most gutless mustang that exists.
The 2.0's would rape it. Id lose a drag race to a 1300cc beetle. Its dangerous on the freeway because the 0-60 can be recorded on a sun dial.
Currently sitting in the garage (30'X90' quonset hut) in pieces while I debate what to do with it.
Friend has a wrecked dodge 2500 with a V10 and hey, look at how long that hood is....
I hate to say this but of all the mustangs I had that are gone....I miss the '77 Cobra II the most.
Any questions about Mustangs feel free to ask.
I worked for a company that bought 65-73 mustangs, stripped them down, rebuilt them and shipped them to Japan.
I wasnt on the bureaucracy end but we were legally allowed to reset the odometer to zero per Nippon regs, they were "that restored".
I can answer most questions for 64-93. After that my knowledge is limited.

Ball joint vs heim?
Nothing on the street.
"Slightly" more responsive on the track.
When youre trying to shave thousands of a second off your time it make sense.
But theres more "hit" on the street.
But thats on paper.
In reality it doesnt feel any harsher because the hydraulic rack acts as a shock absorber (if you have power steering) but feels more "crisp".
If you have manual steering you totally feel both aspects its awesome but gets old. Real fast.

>>28973739
And for the record....
90 was a changeover year.
An 89 and 90 might look the same but they "feel" like completely different cars.
The 90 seat is 2" lower than the 89.
Same seat but they had to compensate for newly mandated (driver) airbags.
Lost the (collapsible) tilt steering column.
Auxiliary instrument cluster was axed.

Long answer:
>"Reliability" is a misnomer.
Coyote is a fucking monster.
>junkyard LS for $300
>junkyard coyote for $2,500
You get what you pay for.
3V is legacy.
You can make it work with a holley 4160.
You'll spend as much for a coyote as you will for the support pieces.
Well.
That wasnt really long.

How do you like the 2025?
I drove one last time I had mine serviced and I was honestly not impressed, idk if my memory is just wrong but the suspension seemed more boat like and performance worse than when my 2017 was stock but then the one I had while mine was being serviced was also auto so maybe half of that was torque converter

Mustang gt is faster in every way than the electric crossover.
Faster 0-100kmh faster around tracks etc etc but whatever helps your gay self sleep at night uleh.
You could have bought a gt but you didn't, stay the big gay.

What I was getting at is more along the lines of I have a 2010 GT, is it worth restoring the minor stuff (some chipped paint, scratches, new roof -- it's a vert). it's got 91k miles on it and is mechanically sound, for now.
as in, is the platform solid enough to be a 'forever car', I've got roughly zero interest in modding, tracking, or anything crazy like that. just a daily cruiser :)

Any chassis can be ran forever.
Its all a matter of preference.
I know a guy who puts about 10k miles a year on a '32 coupe.
And I hate to say it but tou might think its a comfy ride....until you drive somwthing newer.
