The Ronal Bears aren't that rare in Oz. Mazda ran them for six or seven years. The rarest are the Koalas, available for Mazda in 1994 MY only. Made by Intra, Germany.

Rigamaster and their Desmond made Spoon counterparts are quite popular here, you can get them new.

I mean, technically? Can military surplus be considered aftermarket? Can there even be aftermarket in communism?

>Can there even be aftermarket in communism?
Uhh yeah? 2nd hand and aftermarket products were a thing to a degree in socialist countries.
Akrapovic started as a 2 stroke exhaust specialist shop in socialist times if memory serves.
It was different back then, but still the same.

That's a GAZ-24 Volga. They have their own one make class in Russia, don't remember the exact name of the class, but it's like a mix of the mx5 cup and nascar I guess.

iirc they still have it in latvia too, that's where it came from and spread around the union
in russia, it's complicated, it used to be one set of regulations they called yantarnaya volga (amber volga, also matching latvian dzintara volga meaning the same thing), but then they tried to modernize the class with fuel injection and semi-slicks which divided people and it kinda fell apart into multiple sets of incompatible regulations under different names

I just bought a set of EX-C mesh complete with the fans. The fans are unfortunately in awful shape, though.

Yeah I remembered it being "modernised" with fuel injection some time ago that people weren't fans of, which is why I compared it to Nascar, didn't they ditch carbs for FI too?
And I think they allowed engine swaps too now which a lot lf claimed wasn't "Volga rally" anymore.

I remember hearing the Russians swapping in shit like B16 and the Samara Seshnar 1.6 4 bangers due to both of them being very rev happy, lightweight and there being some fuckery with the rules due to them beibg smaller than the ZMZ-24D and 402 2.5 litre 4 bangers
