I’m fixing a few things on Grandpa’s 05 DeVille and noticed this thing has a built in code reader, which is great because I forgot mine at home. This thing also has AC controls on the steering wheel. I don’t know why every car doesn’t have both of those things, but I’ve hardly ever seen either of them. What are some others?

steering wheels are woefully underused for buttons, by far the easiest place to reach is a wheel for buttons or sliders there could be 3x as many buttons as most have now

I agree temp control should be on there

foldout full keyboard with numpad so I can input nav destinations without pecking at a horrid touchscreen

lol, I gotta try plugging a usb keyboard into my aftermarket head unit on my shitbox to see if it works. That would be pretty cool if it did.

Don't cars run Linux? Bet it'd work.

I have god tier 90s car that has two pins that I can connect with any piece of wire and just count how many times it blinks the engine light. Then I just read what that code means from markins.

Pre-OBDII ain’t it, chief. Late 90’s - early 00’s is the sweet spot before everything went to shit.
