Us Americans never got any of the reliable powerplants or neat transmission options, these cars are already unicorns as it is due to that.
Given the opportunity to import one, I still think I'd spring for a diesel-powered L322 Range instead however.

L322 was available with the bulletproof BMW M57 Diesel, and the P38 Was available with the Indestructible indirect injection BMW M51 Diesel with Manual gearbox

Land Rovers are not reliable. I would rather have a 2004 4.2L 6-cylinder Turbo Diesel Nissan Patrol.

It ain't my fault you didn't get the good engines...

>picrel 5 cylinder Land Rover Turbo Diesel literally used in military vehicles in war conditions

Too many electronic shit
>>
>>28977317
They're just very ugly and have the worst of both worlds monocoque on frame construction that weighs a ton with no real advantage of either.

I like my car starting every time and finishing the journey to work every day without issue. I might put up with its struggles for a weekend car, but not something daily driver shaped.

Electronic what? The classic defender has barely anything in it. This is a 2016 model, and it doesn't even have airbags in it

>real offroad capability
Lol.
That thing has like 7" of rocker panel clearance.
I have a FSB with a 6" lift, 33's, 351w and lockers. I can replace the transmission with using a jack.

It's on airbags, that is the low position. It gets much taller in top position, and if it senses that it got stuck anyway it has a freakishly tall emergency mode to get itself out.

I saw a white one at work last week, it looked good.
The darkened rear windows really activated my almonds for some reason.
Pics not the one I saw, just a reference.

Because I prefer the Disco 1 in almost every regard

The Geometry and dimensions trigger me too.
They just don't fit here, aesthetically.

I'm a big fan of the vehicle, however.

same, have stock '95 hilux on stock 32" or so, no need for jack and in the rear I can actually squat under the bed.

Because I bought this with $50:
>unibody, low height, lightweight etc.
>manual gearbox
>8 seats
>real off road capability, FWD (not some 4x4 AWD locked diff American SUV super armored truck shit that gets stuck in a hard and level ground)
>reliable gasoline engine and manual gearbox combo
>100 hp
>studded tires for the winter, driving past your Land Rovers and 100k American trucks that are sliding and getting stuck

Last summer I moved 7500 kg of stuff with it. 12 trips. Americans have never even seen this type of things done in a car. They park their new KIA or 100k truck on a level dirt road with 10 bags of dirt and call it "off road". Enjoy your rollover, failed safety tests and broken plastic parts "made in US".

>>28977696
Thats interesting but
>cant actually lift it to the max height on demand.
>only works after its high centered and senses its stuck.
>"offroad mode" is much lower than a stock FSB.
>max height (still lower than my bronco ride height) is basically just an automatic jack and has no suspension travel and you cant drive in that position.
>>
>>28977525
>351w

Bro. Just throw in an IDI or Powerstroke. You'll literally have more low end power and better fuel economy.

>failed safety tests
the european mind cannot comprehend america
>>
>>28977317
As an American it looks like the US version, LR3, were only offered with front and rear independent suspensions and not solid axles, not very capable for demanding off road use.
Also I’m not a fan of European brands and their astronomical cost of parts, typical euro engineered/designed oddities, and higher labor cost if I ever take it to a specialty shop.

Trip on, dog fucker.
