Found these two after my first try at mushroom hunting. I'm currently making a risotto with them, pretty excited since its my first time making risotto too.

Mushrooms, the entire mushroom is the fruiting bodies of the mycelial body. Leaving the stump is like cutting the top off of an apple. It doesn't help the mycelium at all.

Thusly, you are removing a percentage, no matter how small, of those fruiting bodies.

You can the stems make morel slushy and use it to inoculate soil. So...there are spore on there.

I really wish I could go mushroom harvesting. Sadly most of the wild mushrooms in my region are either worthless or will just straight up kill you.
